With HAL I would not take any chances. The cage may have your info and it may not. Always best to have back up.

Just back from a casino offer cruise to alaska.  I took printouts of the offer.  But happily, no one looked at it.  The casino manager had everone's freeplay listed on his computer.  The casino cashier had the same info.  I was surprised when she told me my wife had freeplay too.

We just recently sailed on a casino promo.  Went to the casino and ask host to verify our casino cash.  Room key card was inserted and he verified our casino cash and placed a drink sticker on our card.

And, at the end of the cruise we got our next casino offer on a card in our room mailbox. I know some people got $750 in casino cash and others got free inside cabins.

I’m pretty sure HAL does not offer this in the Netherlands. How exactly does it work ? Do you have to play a minimum amount in the casino?

My friends are from Heerlan. They get casino offers. And yes there is an amount you have to gamble in the casino. No one knows exactly what that amount is though. The more you gamble the better your offers are.

Any idea how long after you complete your cruise until you start getting emails for casino offers?  My fiance played blackjack for most of the cruise we did last week and we got an offer for $100 in free casino play on the next cruise in our room one night but it's not good enough of an offer to get us to book anything else any time soon.  I know I didn't gamble much on the HAL cruise I was on in 2015 but got free cruise offers, although I can't remember how long it took for them to start coming in.

We seem to get casino offers once a month. I have no clue how long it takes for you to get on their email or snail mail list.

I just got a new offer of a free cruise.

 

On MSC!  I have 3 sailings on MSC (as I do on HAL) but, again, I'm very much a Low Roller.  I'll play a hour or so at the Roulette wheel on most evenings.  If I'm dropping my daily allowance quickly, I'll cash out and give the slots a try for a bit.

 

Sadly, the offer is only for 3 sailings, all on Meraviglia: 3 nights 9/10, 4 nights 9/6, 5 nights 9/13.

 

Since I'm a CPA and our extended business returns are due on 9/15, I wouldn't be able to go even if I lived in S. Florida.  But this is exactly why I was considering moving down there - just to be able to go hop on a ship when a last-minute deal is available.

 

Oh well.  Maybe next year!

I just got another email earlier today with multiple new offers for a free stateroom on a much larger listing of cruises and not all of them are short dated cruises.  Some of them are offers for into March of 2022.  Most of the offers are for the Caribbean or Mexico, but there are some Panama Canal partial transits as well the 10 day Southern Caribbean voyages.  Just port charges and fees.

I just got my first ever casino offer, two weeks after our cruise. 
 

Interestingly, we spoke with a staff member about those and wondered how many play point would get you an offer but he would not give a number. When I asked if it was in the hundreds or thousands, he said: “oh, not in the hundreds!”  I had much less than 1,000.

I'm sailing on a casino offer in Jan.  Small amount of casino cash and drinks while playing.  Does this mean if i'm at a slot machine I can have a cup of coffee? Soda? Water? But I can't go up to the bar myself? Thanks

Ask the casino host when you validate your card.  I have never tried that, always ordered from waitstaff and always provided a cash tip.

On Carnival, you have to be playing.  If you just go to the casino bar and order, you're charged.  Of course, different cruise lines don't necessarily do things the same way, but they're operated by the same casino group, so I'd guess it's the same on HAL. 

 

Although tips are included in the DOU, I've always added a dollar or two to every drink.  If HAL has done away with paper receipts, I'll have to be sure to go to the cage and get some $1s to have handy.

 

My Eurodam sailing in November is a "free" inside cabin, $100 casino credit, and DOU card.  If no one can confirm any of the above before then, I'll report back.

Thank you.  I have 'free' inside 50.00 casino and Drinks in the casino. Or on Carnival it's DOU Drinks on us.  The offer came out of the blue, so I grabbed 3 sailings in a row.

On Thursday I received the email with casino offer UYU (free interior room/$50 free play/free drinks in casino) good on multiple cruises.  One of the listed cruises is a 7 day western caribbean on the Nieuw Statendam departing 1/9/22. I was interested in this cruise,  but it appears to be a typo, as the Statendam is actually in the middle of a cruise on January 9th.  I wonder if this offer is really for the Rotterdam Carib departure on January 9.

Log into your account and see if it shows up for the Rotterdam.  You need to go all the way to summary to see your cruise pricing.

A good idea.  I tried this, and the answer was . . . maybe.  When I log into my HAL account and start to book the 1/9 Rotterdam it does show me a special "Private Fare."  For an inside, the private fare is $200 pp.   That of course is not "free," but typically these "free" casino fares  involve paying a small fare (e.g., $200) and then getting it all back in OBC.  But when using the HAL site for the dummy booking, it does not show me any OBC,  nor the casino free play, nor the drinks on us.  Yet when I run the same 1/9 booking through another website (VTgee), it shows a $200 "Mariner Society" fare with $400 OBC ($200 pp).  Bottom line, I guess I have to call HAL to find out if the 1/9 Rotterdam is actually covered by the casino offer.  No sweat, I'll do that.

It sounds like it is.  I booked a similar and yes you receive the $200 back in OBC.  No where on my booking confirmation does it show the casino play or drinks while playing in casino.  It does show the $200 OBC per person.

I get casino offers from all the cruise lines.  Got several from HAL for $129.00 per person Balcony cabin,   We have to pay the gratuities. No big deal. I jumped on that.  I prefer NCL with their casino offer, you get all 5 perks. I asked HAL about the perks they said no way. I have 6 booked casino offer with NCL and RCL.  I get them every week.  My husband says stop!

Does your husband sail with you on all your Casino cruises or do you do some solo?
