At the star lounge now for battle of the sexs. Im interested to see how royal does it. Carnival rigs it, every single time I've gone they tell us how the ladies are on an insane winning streak like 8 cruises in a row. Then miraculously the guys win ending the streak. At least we know the men always win lol.

Didn't sleep well. I think it was that extra nap I took yesterday plus my body just doesn't recognize a b2b. It just knows its disembarkation today and won't let me sleep.

The bed was super comfortable though I hope my next stateroom is as comfy.

Going to get some breakfast and then head to the star lounge at 9 where the folks doing b2b are to meet.

Anxious to hear about your turnaround experience. In past years, in PC,  we had to wait a bit ( from 15 minutes to 2 hours) in the terminal.  Hoping that will not be the case with new protocols, specific check-in etc.

Also - can you estimate how many B2B there are?  - Thanks

M

Embarkation with so few passengers is quick. The last group was called at 8:24. They just did last call at 8:58.

I walked by my new room and it's already ready and I forgot to talk to ny new steward. I'm glad that was taken care of 🙂

In the star lounge now with my first coffee of the cruise. I've slept so peacefully all week I haven't bought one until now.

On a side note, if I get another one im going to Starbucks this coffee doesn't taste any better than the free stuff.

I'll let you know how long the process takes 🙂

Taking a survey of the room I'd estimate about 60 people plus some more people trickling in still so maybe around 70-80 doing b2b. Completely unscientific estimate.

Did you have to pay for the COVID test you took onboard for the second leg?

Yes it cost about 1-2 hours of sleep. Oh money, no it was complementary. Free of charge and a very simple process. Just wish it was not done in the morning lol.

My luggage has not arrived. I asked a random person in the hall if they knew where it was and they said still in my old room. I sure hope not that was the first place I checked after my new room and the door was closed with a new set of keys outside the door.

Maybe I'll try my old key and see if it still works.

Just  got a knock on the door. Its here Yay. Going to unpack now

Went to Jamie's for lunch. They did have a special lunch in the dining room for b2b guests but I've got ultimate dining again and can't pass up the opportunity to maximize its value 🙂

Ultimate garlic bread.

Lasagna.

And for dessert....cheesecake.

Another delicious meal.

After lunch I got my muster out of the way and now I'm back in the room.

Taking advantage of my own data for a bit, despite the stream in the name I had trouble streaming on my surf n stream plan. Its weird, my cell didn't get a signal in my room last leg but it does from this room. Same deck, weird.

Just FYI

If changing rooms and the new room is vacated before we have to go to the back to back meet up, we usually take our suitcases to the new room. We put them in the closet. Then the cabin attendant only has to move our hanging clothes.

glad it worked out for you.

I was thinking of booking Odyssey with the exact same itinerary as Mariner on a 5 night stint but out of FLL instead of the Cape both on 11/6.  Now that the wife has decided to visit Monterey, CA instead during the same period with her buds, I'm going to book Mariner solo.  It's supposed to hit Cozumel and Nassau (two absolutely boring ports) so I'm just going to stay on the ship, hit the gym, hit the spa, hit the bar, rinse and repeat.  Really looking forward to it

Thank you so much for this thread! Seriously considering booking Mariner for 10/22 for a long weekend getaway for Hubby and I - kind of want to test the waters before we go in December on Oasis with my son and his GF.

Want to keep it as cheap as possible and also keep my mild claustrophobia in check so thinking of booking an Oceanview on Deck 3 under Izumi (#3552). We haven't cruised in a non balcony since we were first married back in the early 90s so am a little leery, lol.  Plus the location below Izumi has me cautious as I'm a light sleeper.  There is another cabin (#3704) out from Studio B but it may be noisy also...decisions, decisions

For those of you cruising right now, are there any zinger deals offered on ship by the Next Cruise Program?  I just booked my Nov. 6th cruise and plan to book next year's cruise for the family (2 staterooms).  Also, any zingers on Spa treatments while on board?

I didn't think of that. Might try that next time especially if its just down the hall like this time. But it wasn't a big deal just a brief panic for a moment that it was delivered to the wrong room.

Enjoy your cruise! I love solo cruising. One bummer re spa was the sauna is currently closed due to health protocols.

I will also be on Mariner 10/22. Hope that doesn't scare you away lol. If you just need a window maybe a Promenade view inside. That's what I have this cruise. I'm like you, I like quiet rooms and don't think I would want to risk being near or under a venue.

Check this site. They update it month by month, although I haven't really seen the incentives change for years.  I wouldn't wait to book onboard for fear prices might go up before you get to November.  You can always book refundable now to lock in price and then if it works out better onboard take advantage of that and cancel the first booking.

I'll find out about the spa and get back to you. Cruise next is offering $200 obc if you put down a deposit. Up to 600 if you apply it within so many days. I'm gonna check it out this weekend and make some bookings if it works on casino rates so I'll have the exact details for that as well.
