You can ask your cabin attendant to empty your fridge.  Then you can put whatever you want into it.

However, the stuff he takes out will go in  bag under the bed.  That's also where the bed spread scarf goes.  that's also where you out your suitcase. So....just so much you put under there.

That is so weird that they put it under the bed? LOL - doesn't it roll around or make noise?  And yes both LARGE suitcases will be put under the bed (along with the mini bar contents?  🙂 )

Those mini bars really don't hold very much, so there's no problem putting the contents under the bed with suitcases, bed spread cover, etc.

It'll vary by ship and room type, on a recent cruise they threw everything into a clear trash bag and put in the hollow sofa

Hi CCers!  So I impulsively booked my first cruise ever yesterday for a C1 aft room on the Summit for NEXT WEEK!😬  I know nothing about how things go.

-Can I ask that the mini-fridge (do I have a mini-fridge?) be stocked with just things I like?  I have no use for beer or wine, but vodka is always a good idea!

-Can I order cocktails to be delivered to my stateroom so I can sip on the verandah before dinner?

-Is there a place I can find a room service menu?

Thanks so much.

If you and your cabin mate upgrade to the drinks and more package, the mini fridge will be stocked with Vodka, Coke, Diet Coke, Heineken, small Chardonnay and small Cab or Pinot. It will also contain water and some snack bars. You may be able to customize this but probably not. They will also give you two or 4 bottles of wine and $50 casino credit per person. The fridge would be replenished each day of the cruise.

You would have to pay for drinks delivered to the room, even if you have the beverage package.

Room service menus will be in the room but a good internet search may turn up some CC menus

I asked the room attendant to remove the contents and the water bottle so that I could use the fridge for my own personal preferences.    I had upgraded to the drinks and more but as I am a lightweight, also, I probably left money on the table.    For me, it was worth the extra $$$$$ not to have to worry about any upcharges for fancier drinks.

If you do ask for items to be removed, pay attention to your room charges. I was billed $21 for minibar items.    One call with an explanation solved the problem.    The charge was removed immediately.

I was sailing solo, so the mini fridge was not included.    If both in party purchase that package, mini is included.

Have fun on your cruise!

In a C1 you don't want to take anything out of the 'fridge' unless you upgrade to Drinks and More.
Our experience is to ask the room attendant to empty the fridge and then you can keep it stalked. when returning to the cabin - pick up waters, etc to put in the fridge.

Whatever u put in there..water, canned soda or juice will be cool..not cold.   Ask for  daily ice bucket 2x /day.

Do not keep meds in fridge!

That is the first thing I let the room attendant know about - please we want the ice bucket filled whenever possible.
I've often wanted to ask - so I'll do it now....
Has anyone requested a 'large' ice bucket in place of the small one they provide?
And, did they have a larger one?

I think some of the advice on here is leading the OP astray.

OP said they do NOT have a drink package, and is NOT in a suite.

For whatever reason, a lot of people like to read the first post and then reply without reading any other posts.

For the OP, since you don't have the drink package you can certainly feel free to purchase your drinks from a restaurant, bar, minibar, or room service. My typical issue with ordering anything from room service is that it takes much longer to get than simply going to the buffet and making a plate or going to a bar and ordering a drink. So my preference is to get something to come back. And then you have mostly unlimited options.

Be aware that you can still bring two bottles of wine on per state room for free. So, if we don't have the drink package we always do that. You will have to pay a fee if you want to drink them in the restaurants but it's free to drink them in your cabin.

And you can pour it in your cabin and take your wine anywhere on the ship, including dinner. Ask your stateroom attendant for a couple clean wine glasses every day.

We actually have the classic drink package included - which is enough for us as we are very light drinkers. So we will definitely ask for the mini fridge to be emptied, ice buckets to be filled and will 'stock' the fridge with our own waters/soft drinks that we pick up at any of the bars while we are out and about!

Thanks to everyone for their great input! 🙂

You can pre-order a bottle or two of vodka which will be delivered to your stateroom upon arrival and get glassware and ice from your room steward.  As for mixers, you can order sodas and juices from room service. Bloody mary mix might be harder.

It is an option, but at $100-130 per bottle, it's can be a pricey one depending on how much you intend to take advantage.

OP said they don't currently have a drink package, so this may be cheaper than buying individual drinks.
