Has the Govt of Canada quietly dropped the Level 4 for cruise travel?

I looked everywhere & could not find the Level 4 that they had for cruising?  Has anybody else found it?

Maybe now the insurance companies will notice & start covering Cancellations & Trip Interruption.

I saw that but it definitely had it as a Level 4 before, not now.  I guess until the insurance companies cover Cancellation & Trip Interruption it does not really matter.

It looks like the level 4 advisory is gone as of Nov 2. This is the page that, with the bullet points about cruise travel outside Canada, used to state to avoid all cruise ship travel out of Canada, with the same list of bullet points.

If they drop the cruise advisory, you still won’t get trip cancellation and interruption insurance for covid related reasons.

To add my 2¢'s worth, the yellow box at the top of the https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories webpage is clearly labelled "COVID-19 – Travel advice". COVID-19 travel advice, not advisory. This includes the advice to "avoid all cruise ship travel outside of Canada"    

 

Beneath the yellow box lie the main contents of the page: Travel Advice and Advisories. Nowhere in this section, which is inclusive of all GOC travel advisories, is there any mention made of cruise travel.

 

My conclusion is that, with no fanfare, the travel advisory has been dropped.

 

The second GOC webpage dealing with this issue, https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise, has also been modified by deleting any reference to a travel advisory. I think that it's important to note that this page was modified on November 2nd, the day following the elimination of the ban on cruise ships in Canadian waters. I state this because there has been speculation for some time that once the ban was lifted, the advisory would be lifted too. It appears that the speculation was accurate.

 

The shift from travel advisory to COVID-19 advice is really only significant to the majority of travellers because of the insurance issue. We've seen Manulife shift its position within the past week, and can only hope that others will follow.

International travel advisories in the USA and Canada have been at Level 3 (related to non essential travel) due to Covid. Nothing higher than that in N American.  The insurance companies on land that you’d use for all scope health and trip coverage have actually stopped covering trip interruptions and cancellations as by now they only want to cover health events. That is something that is possibly covered by your cruise travel insurance.

In addition, most Caribbean islands have dropped to "normal security".

Today I noticed our river cruise may be impacted due to the U.S. State Dept Travel advisories. The Netherlands and Switzerland are now at level 4-Do Not Travel and Germany and France are at Level 3-Reconsider Travel. I don't know if the cruise lines follow these recommendations or if it's just up to us? We are supposed to leave on the 26th.
