Well I have figured out why I had a reminder to bring a euro type plug.  iteems the royal suites only have euro type plugs next to bed and sleep sofa.

Same for Celebrity suites... no US-type plug next to bed.  There were outlets in a few other places, but I wish they would start to follow the design found in newer hotels... with plugs and/or USB charging ports near the bed and other places.  I assume the options are limited in these rooms since rewiring may be cost prohibitive.

Thanks from me, too,, for posting the photo of the Botero sculpture in the Solarium. My sister and I were on that ship years ago and loved that sculpture. Then, on a later cruise, we went to Cartagena and saw Boteros all over the place. They’re so great.

Your blog is making me wonder if I can wait until January, when we board the Equinox.  I want to be in Cafe al Bacio RIGHT NOW.

Are you on the ship now? I have one you can borrow if you need. My new aqua class veranda has a plug built into the lamp next to the bed so I am all set. Look for a woman with glasses and purple hair!

I walked out of a comedy show on edge in august for the same reason. I think some of these acts are in desperate need of some updating.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!.

The picture of the Rendezvous Lounge several days ago reminds me that is about the only real thing I miss between M class and S class ships.  Having it the width of the ship with a real stage for bands is so much better than the small bar they have outside the specialty restaurants on S class, no stage or room and the music in the atrium on S class is terrible with the acoustic situation.  Anyway, it sounds like you had a great trip.

@JamieLogical, on any of your recent Celebrity solo cruises , have you upgraded to the drinks and more package?  If so, were you able to use the minibar at no charge?  I'm debating whether to do so for next Celebrity cruise, and was wondering about that, since it does say that both passengers in a cabin have to upgrade.  But if you're traveling solo, there is no second passenger!

I did for both of the legs of this back to back. Unfortunately there are no Pringles or Kind bars onboard. I did get two bottles of wine in my stateroom for each leg. And most importantly, I got $50 of Freeplay in the casino, which basically meant they paid me to upgrade. I would have done the premium package anyway, so the drinks and more was $7 more per day. $50 of casino Freeplay for $35 on my first leg and $28 on my second leg was a no brainer!

From the mini bar, I have mostly just taken advantage of the bottled water.

@JamieLogicalwas the $50 Freeplay for upgrading to premium a special they were running or is this standard?  Did you do the upgrade pre-cruise or once onboard?

I'm not Jamie, but I can answer this part - the $50 free play is a part of the drinks and more package, which is one step up from the Premium Package upgrade.  For example, on my next Celebrity Cruise, to upgrade from the normal beverage package to the premium is $12 more per day.  To upgrade to the Drinks and More is, I believe, $21 per day.

Thanks, Jamie.  I wasn't even thinking about Pringles or Kind bars, but more about the beverages included in the minibar.  Aren't there a few bars in addition to the bottled waters?

Thank you for that explanation @kpark895.  Makes sense and probably won't be worth it for me to upgrade from the classic package.

Innocent "Your smile brightens my morning!" is an alarming, threatening, hazardous, and risky statement in these crazy days of the pale indistinct week societies.  As always, the "progressive" civilization destroys itself (it has been happening "millions" of times).

So I’m going to take if you don’t respond to this post in the next day or two that you kept the basic Wi-Fi package you received with your Aqua cabin’s AI package rather than upgrading to the streaming package that you automatically received when you were booked in a suite on the first leg.

Thanks for the offer.  Our butler found me an adapter.

I was solo on the same trip as Jamie and also had the Drinks and More package. The minibar service is definitely included. In fact, on the third day, my room steward fussed at me for not drinking up from the minibar. With the Premium Package (and all the great bartenders and sommeliers), I was having my fill (and then some) elsewhere on the ship. I wound up taking the 2 bottles from the package plus the 2 wine splits from the minibar home with me.

@JamieLogical

It was so great to finally meet you on the last full day of your second cruise and join you for dinner and then breakfast with T & P! Hope your travel home was uneventful and you'll be able to fill in the remainder of your review.

Valerie

Actually, it was quite eventful! After several delays, I didn't make it home until after midnight. I am still recovering and trying to get settled in at home. I have a ton of notes and photos to post from the second leg of my B2B, so I will try to get those posted tomorrow.

It was great to meet you too and I hope your trip home went better than mine!

@JamieLogical Glad to finally hear from you (we thought you might have gotten off for good on one of the islands)... and we look forward to your review of your second cruise.

Hi Jamie- it’s your Canadian helipad friend. It was a pleasure meeting you on the cruise.

I booked  the Summit again in April 2022 as the Black Friday deals are to good to pass up.

Wishing you and your husband a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Barb
