Surely they can see how many drinks youve had so would know if you had 15 or more

I was charged every time I ordered a drink in the theater on one cruise. They were getting the drinks from the Casino Bar. I had to go to Passenger Services each time to have the charge removed. I was well under the 15 drink limit. That one bar simply screwed up every order. (When I arrived late and ended up sitting in the upper part of the theater they got the drinks from Wheelhouse and I wasn't charged.

With the drink package, if you want a glass of this Champagne, it’ll cost you $1 + 18% = $1.18....as the Max drink price you can get is $12, this Champagne is $13....you pay the difference and 18% service charge.....Not bad at all

Are you sure about this (that you only pay the difference) ?

Lousy bartender.

Maybe he was just new on the job?

I assume that you can keep track of the total number using the medallion app ??

That's asking a lot from the app. We had to ask a bartender how many drinks we had that day.

Well if they can use the medallion to track everyone on the ship and who they've been in contact with just keeping track of how many drinks a person had doesn't seem to asking to much.

If not we'll just keep asking every time we order drinks.

I feel like if you ordered all your drinks through the medallion app your order history would be there but if you just walk up to the bar and order one it doesn't show in the app.  I'm like 80% sure on that but wouldn't fall out of my chair in shock if I'm wrong...it certainly doesn't seem like it would be difficult conceptually but I don't think they've implemented it.

Surely, if you walk up to a bar you still have to give your room number, or present your medallion,  and then all the information comes up on the server's screen ?

Yes, any drink you order is counted toward the daily total.  They won't give you a drink without your medallion present.

I have a question on this.

We are not drinkers, but because we will have the package, I might try some things.  Advice?

But that isn't my real question.  We are elite, and always in the past have exchanged our mini bar setup for the coffee card, but it appears the coffee card items are included in the drink package, so is there anything worthwhile to trade the mini bar setup toward other than the coffee?  I know they used to offer a bottle of wine, but probably not something we would use.

Actually, on our last cruise, we quite often ordered drinks without presenting our medallions. Just had to give our cabin number.

No.

If you find something be sure to let us know otherwise we'll just pack the small bottles to take home.

Of course they have a count but I was wondering if the number was readable using my app. I wouldn't have to keep asking the server/bartender to keep me updated.

Yes, I should have said "some kind of authentication", they aren't giving out drinks without counting them against your allotment.  Although  I suppose someone could become friends with a bartender.....

This is our first time doing the package also.  DH likes Bailey's.  Can you get more than one shot in a glass or is it counted as each shot?  So, if you order a double, does it count as 2?  Also, are the mini  bottles of Korbel allowed in the package?  Cheers!

This is only what I've been reading on CC but yes you can get a double shot of anything and they'll just count it as a double punch.

Don't know about the bottle of Korbel.

Also, are you able to get things for in room?  I thought it was not allowed to be used for in room.  I am probably incorrect. Thanks

It seems as though they'll now deliver drinks to the room since you can use the medallion to order.

Double shots count as two drinks. I tend to drink Scotch and often get a double. Not a problem. The mini bottles of Korbel were included but I've read that they are no longer carrying those in stock. Perhaps it was just one ship or it may be fleet wide. I know on our last cruise (just before the shutdown) the bars ran out of the mini bottles. I like to get a couple to stick in the cabin refrigerator and then take them to the disembarkation lounge. I use the provided Orange Juice in the lounge to have Mimosas while waiting for our disembarkation time.

Yes, you can now get drinks in the cabin. They are covered by the package. In the past drinks delivered to the cabin weren't covered but that has changed.

Thanks for your response.  I trust you as you post a lot and know so much.  Great idea about the Korbel bottles!  I would probably just do the champagne!  LOL  Can't believe one shot of Baileys is considered a drink.

The app and the medallion are 2 separate things

Great!  Will have to have someone on the ship show me how to use that app!
