Thanks!!! That gives me a lot of hope the response times on the Constellation out in the Caribbean next week will be acceptable. Yes, it's an M class ship whereas you're on an S class. But it's more about the satellite bandwidth speeds and with more ships in the Caribbean, it looks like they're starting to increase the satellite bandwidths. Thanks again for checking and we hope you continue to have a great cruise!! 😎

I am curious about the individual with Covid who disembarked - what about contract tracing and the people he was or may have been in contact with?  How is that being handled?  (I know on other lines they have some sort of face recognition software and everyone who might have been 'around' the infected individual was asked to quarantine and/or had to get a test?)

Surely he must have been out and about before testing positive?

I do not have any information on that other than the Captain saying that they were contract tracing anyone having extended contact.   That was with his initial announcement last night.  I have not really try to find any additional information.  If we had experienced any extended contact with the individual I am sure they would have let us know.

Thank you so much for the review Kahuna. You are doing a great job!

We are on an upcoming Reflection cruise and were just notified that the Dominican Republic isn't happening. What did they replace the DR with on your cruise? God forbid I have to wait a few days for them to post it. HAHA!

Which sailing are you on? We are on the 12/26 and I did communicate with the new port in Puerto Plata that they are opening on 12/15 and expecting Reflection on 12/31. They also told me they have "surprises" planned at the port that day since it is New Year's Eve day.

We are currently on the 12/4-12/11 sailing and when we pass our COVID test tomorrow, we will be on the 12/11-12/18.

Neither of these are scheduled to stop in the DR.

Not how I remembered the Sunset Bar at all.

Only Reflection (of the Solstice Class ships) has this Sunset Bar configuration.  I like it because if you sit at the bar you no longer have your back to the sea.  And those bar stools light up different colors at night.

That explains why I remember the bar as being along the back bulkhead.

I’ll have to take a stroll up there in the evening and have a look around.  It looks like a nice place to hang out when not crowded.  Noticed a few tables that were semi-secluded that were occupied by a small group of people.

The 12/11 sailing was supposed to stop in Puerto Plata, but since their dock wasn’t ready it was cancelled and made a sea day instead.

I did not know that.  All i have to go buy is the app and what I am told on board.

We had an appointment for our B2B courtesy COVID-19 antigen test this morning at 0900.  We went up and got in line at 0845.  We were done after a short wait by 0900.  At 0932 we received emails with our test results.  We both tested negative and are cleared for our cruise next week.

Yay!  Congratulations 🙂

I'm really enjoying your live report - Thank you!!

If you get the chance, I'd like to know the email for the Retreat concierge.  We'll be on in January and I need to touch base about a special event.

Congratulations.    I have to admit that it is always a concern to make sure you aren't going to be tossed off the ship.   We had some home tests and pre-tested a day before our official test just for peace of mind.

I'm glad they are now sending out results by e-mail.   On the cruises in Sept/October we didn't get the results until dinner time.    The Retreat Host said we would get them and not to worry that if we had tested positive we would have been immediately escorted to our room by security.   Our results were left on our bed along with the daily for the next day.

Today is a port day at the World Resort of Bimini.  After a leisurely breakfast, we went as were tested for our B2B. Results were back in about 30 minuted. Took a snapshot of both PDF documents and have them on my phone.  Paper copy should be delivered to our stateroom tonight.

After giving the sample for our antigen test, we went ashore and caught the courtesy ‘trolly’.
The trolly is on a loop.  Beach 360, Bimini Beach Club, and the public beach.  When asked about any shopping areas the trolly driver said there was a straw market but we would need to take a taxi.  We choose not to do that and rode the trolly back to the ship.

Neither of us are really beach lovers or sun worshipers so we are sprnding a relaxing day aboard.

I agree, apprehension about the test results is a thing.  We were both very relieved at how quickly the notification was provided.

That is what we were told about the hard copy of our results - delivered to our room.

I want to give special recognition to @Jim_Iain

We are now enjoying our morning Almond Croissant at breakfast in Luminae.  Apparently they are not a standard menu item so they were not available when I asked for one.  Since then our waitress has made sure to have them for us each morning.  No more getting up early and making a trip to Cafe al Bacio for this guy.

The other alternative is to have your butler bring them to your cabin.

Iain had asked abut them in Luminae and the Assistant waiter rant to al Baccio to get him.    From that day on he delivered them to our butler.    Our butler said - why didn't you ask me ???  I'll be glad to get anything you want.

I owe you all an apology.  The Retreat guest were invited to a sail away this afternoon for our departure from Bimini.  As we were leaving a pod of porpoise appeared from out in front of the ship and joined us for a very brief while.  I failed to capture any of it  on camera.

The crew is starting to add Christmas decorations to what was already here.  My favorite being this on Deck 3.
