mesee Posted December 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2021 I know the Amex promo is usually posted however I found a offer on my Chase card. Its spend $100 get $35 back so a really good return. I have the Chase Southwest card. Not sure if it's on their other cards but if you have Chase you should check it out. It appeared today and expires 1/15/22.
pe4all Posted December 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2021 Just checked my chase cards - one of the 3 I have has the offer. Unfortunately I don't cruise until 1/23/22. I have never noticed the offer for Carnival on Chase before - will have to keep an eye out from now on. Thanks for the heads up.

JHCruiser123 Posted December 14, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2021 I wonder if you purchased a shore excursion or cheers package with Carnival using your Southwest Chase credit card if you could get the $35 back.

Should work. Purchase must be at least $100 to qualify for statement credit. Carnival does split charges for billing purposes. Excursions, specialty dining, fun shops, etc. are billed as separate charges.

You could use it to book a shore excursion, prepay gratuities, buy gift card etc. I doesnt require the purchase to be the cruise fare.

That's my plan - prepay for internet and tasty beverages (to slightly past $100) for our early Jan cruise Edited December 14, 2021 by newpherchris
cellfree Posted December 14, 2021 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2021 New to this - do I go online to Carnival and pull up a particular booked cruise and prepay some gratuities using the Chase Card (for me I found it on United one) that offers this? JHCruiser123 Posted December 14, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2021 This is great! I will easily spend over $100. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
kitten816 Posted December 14, 2021 #12 Share Posted December 14, 2021 I got it on my Checking and Credit, paid $100 towards one trip and then bought internet and bar cash with the other offer. Spent $202 and getting $70 back!

My grats weren't going into my cart, so if it's not over $100, I would suggest getting internet or an excursion? Even bar or cruise cash!

pe4all Posted December 14, 2021 #15 Share Posted December 14, 2021 I always pre-pay my grats and buy water. Bought water already (was only a couple of bucks) and will - for the first time ever - leave grats to be paid with the large amount of obc I have from CCL cancelled cruises. Will keep an eye out for future offers, though.

amypete Posted December 15, 2021 #18 Share Posted December 15, 2021 Had it on my Southwest Card. Have it in my cart - I'm not purchasing it until I get a negative Covid test back on January 6th since the cruise cash is non refundable! Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you. I found the offer on my BOA card, too. I have 3 cruises booked, 12/26-Horizon nee Sunshine, 13/26-Vista, and 7/25-B2B Valor. Have already got $250 statement credits from both Carnival Barclays and Citi Diamond Preferred. Closing in on the third $100 gift card from points on my Citi Thank You Card points. Now redeeming $35X3=$105 on BOA, Chase Slate and Chase Amazon. That will be $905 in savings. Not to mention these are mostly casino deals booked; a total of $1400 OBC. Now with the Horizon/Sunshine switch, it was cheaper to book the third guest in a second cabin with Cheers and no single supplement. The $200 OBC for each cabin gives us $1600 OBC over 3 cruises. Also, 25% FCC from the Horizon/Sunshine switcheroo clocks in at $176. This is really low but, we are booked at super great rates. 4 of our 5 cabins for the three of us are fully paid. I'll apply the FCC to the last unpaid cabin along with any future gift cards from my Citi points. Jaime C Posted December 15, 2021 #21 Share Posted December 15, 2021 I see the $35 cash back in my Hyatt and Southwest cards. I’ll have to check my BOA and other cards.
Can'tWait2SetSail Posted December 15, 2021 #22 Share Posted December 15, 2021 We had the offer on 2 out of 3 Chase cards and the BOA. My cruise is not til next summer so I just used towards cost of cruise. Also used the spend $500 on amex offer today. Certainly beat the 10% savings at AARP for gift cards, and I love the fact that if the cruise does not happen these will be refunded to the credit cards rather than having the money tied up in gift cards! (Although if no more offers come through before final payment I probably will get some gift cards to save the 10%).

I've spent $3,941.19 at Carnival(fares, internet, and excursions) with my Marriott Bonvoy Bold card since I was approved 5/31/21. I have never received any Carnival offers. Most of the offers I do get are junk. The only half decent ones I have right now are for ShopDisney and Love's Travel Stop. I have no need for Disney merchandise at the moment. Also, there are no Love's locations that I will be near anytime soon. I got offers for McDonald's and Starbucks no more than a month after being approved. I had never spent any money with this card at those merchants.
Hockeydad1972 Posted December 15, 2021 #24 Share Posted December 15, 2021 So is the Chase Freedomoffer only good for $100 for $35 or do I get more if I spend more.. ? For example if I spend a $1000 do I get $350?? I am usually pretty savvy with this stuff and I the fine print is not clear at all..

My guess is $35 off period, otherwise I'd think it would be listed as 35% off.
