Danor71 Posted December 25, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2021 Currently onboard the Symphony. I was told by several people that there are currently 4000-4100 paying guests onboard. Ship feels very low capacity. Coco Cay was very empty despite 2 ships there. There are no theatre type shows. Same 2 comedians most nights. Restaurants are also very light capacity. No bingo. No smoking in casino as a lot of people are reporting.

Are you enjoying your cruise? Merry Christmas!
Snowrose Posted December 25, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 25, 2021 Interesting. Someone on the same cruise just complained about crowding in the MDR. Although I guess the unvaccinated MDR would be quiet, as that's only supposed to be 5% of the guests.

Read reports from several ships that the Vaxed are opting for the unvaxed dining rooms because of the over crowding in MDR for vaxed only.. I'm not shooting the messenger but I'm not buying that someone can just willey-nilley change from their assigned dining (vaxed or unvaxed) in the MDR. But when we left the line was down the Promenade trying to get in. Which tells me they're short on wait staff.

If there's availability they will do everything they can to honor your request. I had late dining assigned to me once and I was hungry so I went to the MTD deck, no problem, they seated me. Once as in recently? You were lucky pre covid cruise. Talking about TD in the MDR with vaxed and unvaxed. MTD is different as reservations aren't required. MDR TD reservations are required. All those tables have been assigned. Edited December 25, 2021 by davekathy
jasongoldberg Posted December 25, 2021 #13 Share Posted December 25, 2021 Interesting. MDR was packed at 7pm on the first night. No spacing between tables. Hooked was wide open same time last night with tables spaced nicely.

Danor71 Posted December 25, 2021 Author #15 Share Posted December 25, 2021 I have been opting for the speciality restaurants for the 1st 2 nights. I’ll see tonight how busy Jaimie’s Italian is. I had breakfast in MDR today and it was quiet - just before debarkation in Nassau. I tried Windjammer once for breakfast and it was very light compared to other cruises when it’s an absolute zoo. They now require carding in and out of Windjammer. 2nd night X-mas eve at Johnny Rockets was completely empty - no one. I stopped in with some family for a shake. They were all over us since they had no one else. Ate at Playmakers today around 2pm - there were only 3 table occupied.

Nope - perhaps the snacks at Promenade cafe are sub-par and not fresh but we have had everything we have asked for.

It is standard operating procedure in the Comedy Club: Two comedians, same show every time. One or the other (maybe both if other entertainment is light because of covid) will do a show in the main theater one night, family-friendly. Ask for Girish, he's great. 2 hours ago, Merion_Mom said: Is this your first cruise on an Oasis class ship, @Danor71? They also have an adult comedy in the main theater as well, or at least they did a couple months ago.

In the last i recall 2 adult shows and 1 family show as you stated. This week, they are booked every night some nights twice a day.

Danor71 Posted December 26, 2021 Author #22 Share Posted December 26, 2021 So Majority Rules was on last night at On Air at 11pm. We showed up at 10:45 and there was no room at all unfortunately. I wish they had picked a larger venue. Disappointing.
