Cabo looks gorgeous today. Thanks for sharing. If there is a opportunity, can you please talk to a senior level crew member or officer and ask if the next sailing Jan 8th is still on? NCL has just started canceling cruises. Sadly passengers were only given 24 hrs notice prior to sailing. That means they probably have gotten their COVID testing, jumped on a plane to travel to the ship only to find out it has been cancelled.

Perhaps on your sea day tomorrow there will be a “coffee chat” or something where you can ask. The crew always knows before any Princess phone service rep knows. As for myself, I have a hotel reservation that must be cancelled before Thursday midnight to avoid any cancellation fees for an overnight stay with 8 days of parking. Thank you all!

As of tonight, per our very reliable source, there has been no talks of canceling any Princess cruise.

They are totally prepared for and expecting new passengers on this coming Saturday.

Last night we went to the late night production show...It was very loud and frankly not very good, except for one singer.  It was very well attended.  All the prior late night shows were sparsely attended and consisted of one performer--magician, comic, singer.  Some better than others.  There are no dance classes (unless you consider line dancing, dancing) and the only dancing is in the Piazza and late night with the DJ.  The bands are not that great, either.  Dining is very well organized.  While it is not like pre-pandemic cruising, it is good enough to be back on the sea.  The Lobster Roll bar is a scam...the rolls started out at $10/each (no mention of the surcharge at all prior to boarding) and then 2 days ago went up to $15/each!  We feel very safe and have only heard of a few people who are "unhappy" about having to wear masks and get vaccines.  Most passengers seem socially concerned about their behavior and its impact on others.  After all we are all on this ship together!!!  We did not dine with strangers.  Medallion is a challenge and the best comment I heard was that it is only good to unlock your door!  If you go to Puerto Vallarta there is a crazy time change and you have to be very wary of any non-Princess excursions you may sigh up for.  We almost missed the boat...not a fun experience.  Based on this 10 day cruise, we bought future cruise credits and hope to do a transatlantic.   We were also told that the Gourmet Chinese restaurant is no longer under the direction of the Michelin Star chef...and getting reservations for Sur Le Mer is impossible and yet the restaurant is always empty.   We took our own Covid tests and have been testing every 3 days and we understand there is a free covid test when you disembark.

For those onboard now-

Any production shows tonight? Apparently none yet for your cruise.

My mom said Cabo was great yesterday.

Did Carnival ship leave yesterday or spend the night with you?

Have a great rest of your day and sea day tomorrow.

The Carnival Panorama went out to sea last night so they could open their casino.  It returned during the night and is currently next to us again.

We had dinner last night at the Harmony restaurant.  We were pleased with the food.  We would say it was like eating at a local Chinese restaurant back home.  Not gourmet, but not bad.  And service was great!

What was the name of the production show you saw last night?

I guess you’ll let us all know ,but I don’t think there’s a free Covid test when you disembark unless your country or area requires one.

Wow I am glad that you made it back to the ship in Puerto Vallarta ,but pretty sure it was communicated on board the ship that the time was going to be different in Port than ship time. Actually I think it was even reported on this live thread, but easily missed information I’m sure.

Yeah my mom had a lobster roll on embarkation day and was shocked to find the charge I guess when they handed her -her lobster roll ,but figured it was a one time thing. So she must’ve missed the sign that there was a charge as well. Because I think there is other food at that same venue that is complimentary.

A note regarding the Kids Club:  Our 7 yr old granddaughter is one of eight, 5 to 12 yr olds, registered in the Kids Club.  So, it does not appear to be very many kids onboard.

Is your granddaughter enjoying the cruise, hopefully. Or how about your party of 10. Thanks for all your posts and information.Enjoy the rest of your evening and sea day.

Our granddaughter has LOVED the kids club!  She can't wait to finish her dinner so she can go play with her new friends.  During the day, we have a hard time keeping her out of the pool!

Our group has had a great time.  The crew has been fabulous!  We really appreciate their friendliness and happy demeanor.  They have a very difficult job.

We had two occasions where passengers were being not so nice to them.  On both occasions, we stepped in and backed them up.  If I had my way, I would make the passengers walk the plank!  It is so unnecessary to be rude to these hard working folks.

We are looking forward to being onboard again on April 9th for our granddaughters spring break.  That's after a 29 day voyage on the Emerald next month!

The PV local time is one hour ahead of the ship's time.  That means that if the ship announces that "All Aboard" time is 6:00 p.m., that will correspond to 7:00 p.m. local time.  If you forget about the time differential, and ask a local for the time or see a clock in a local venue, and rush back to the ship at 6:00, the All-Aboard time, you will be an hour early!  No risk of missing the ship when the ship's time is behind the local time!

The problem is if you sign up for a non-ship excursion, because its start time will be an hour before you expect it and you might miss your pre-paid tour.

What was the cutoff number for the luncheon?

Sorry, we were not given menu's.  The cutoff for the luncheon was 626 days, the most traveled had 1,700 days.

We had the Creole Seafood which was one of the best dishes we've had the entire cruise. The dessert was great!  The bowl was made of chocolate.

Btw, no officer's were present.

Getting ready for disembarkation and they announced in Elite holding area that it will be busy because over 60% of the passengers are Elite……which always begs the question of what is so Elite about Elite on Princess?
You would never find 60% of guest in a Hilton Diamond status, or 60% of passengers on a United flight 1K status or 60% of Hertz customers Presidential Circle status.

Princess needs to thin the ranks by having passengers sail a certain number of days a year or reach a certain spend level to qualify for their status again each year….it is basically a joke….

Maybe someday there will be a different Princess status program.

obviously ,you can wait in a different lounge and not Elite  aka Vista Lounge if it is too crowded .

of course there use to be food & drink  in the elite and lounge, but it was always gone pretty much when we got there. And I’m assuming since Covid hit there’s probably none of that. So probably doesn’t really matter  where you wait as long as you can hear what luggage color is called ?

Welcome Back. We are boarding the Majestic today and saw the ship sail in from our hotel early this morning. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you on Cruise Critic who posted to this forum. It has been a tremendous help to many of us who are boarding in the Majestic in January. Safe travels back home to you all and for those lucky few Cruise Critic folks who are staying for the next 7 day sail, I hope to see you on board!
