Lobster at Chops — Addition or Replacement for Steak Entree?

Recommended Posts

Can one order a petit filet AND the whole Maine lobster for the $21 upcharge ….or is the upcharge lobster a replacement for any other entree option.  On Explorer in November, the table next to us had both lobsters and steaks for everyone.  I was wondering if they were charged for a second entree for the steak after paying for the lobster.  Asking for a friend…

On lobster night you can order steak and lobster tails, at no charge.

The only time that we got whole lobsters was on Anthem NE-Canada cruise some years ago.  We had just left Bar Harbor Maine, and that evening whole lobsters (1+ lbs) were on the menu.  We heard that RCL had purchased the lobsters while in Bar Harbor.  Pleasant surprise as this was in addition to the lobster night.

Ps:  Did quite a few like itinerary after and never experienced the same.

You can order Surf and Turf presently $34.95.

is that a special on board on the online menu I only see the additional lobster for $21, on top of the price to dine at Chops that makes the dinner quite expensive

It's on the menu on I believe the 2nd formal night.  Steak is always on the menu.\

PS:  You can have more than one.

If you are dining in Chops, you can pay the up charge for the lobster. The  filet entrée is included in your cover charge. You will be able to enjoy both the fillet and the lobster for the cover charge and the lobster extra charge

enjoy.

There seem to be two parallel discussions going on here - one related to actually eating in Chops (where the cover charge varies wildly between ships and sail dates), and the other one that appears to be about ordering the "chops" option on the MDR menu 9where the option is more of a fixed price.

Yes, but I don’t understand why. The OP clearly indicated lobster AT Chops.

Why,  They will bring you as many of the free lobster tails at Chops as you want, you just have to ask.

Really-never heard of that! On second formal night when lobster tail is served, In the MDR or any time? Last time we had to pay extra for lobster at Chops.

here is a screen shot of the Chops menu on Harmony featuring lobster.

I believe this is the lobster the OP was referencing in the original question

Thx.

Thanks, good to know.  Often go to a specialty restaurant once each cruise, and never knew this.

So there is truth that you can teach an old dog new tricks!

I appreciate the info

The OP was inquiring about lobster at chops, not in the main dining room

Yes, but as happens, the thread morphed.

Welcome to the internet. 😄
