outtoseacruise Posted January 14, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted January 14, 2022 I had heard yesterday that because the charter was canceled this would probably be canceled. Hopefully they don't extend it to February sailings?

Mikew0805 Posted January 14, 2022 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2022 There is another two night on Jan 29th. I am on that one... for now.
Mikew0805 Posted January 14, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2022 (edited) OK I found the charter that causes the 29th to be a 2 day. Looks like that one is still a go... for now. Edited: actually the second charter is cancelled too. UGH Fingers crossed for the 29th. Edited January 14, 2022 by Mikew0805 Update

Yes, and the charter companies both canceled so it really made no sense to send it out for 2 days in between two canceled cruises. Hopefully the one on the 29th will still go.
RFerrington Posted January 14, 2022 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2022 That brings up an interesting question. When a charter cancels, do they (the charter) still incur a cost ? Does Royal still get some money ?

When a charter cancels, do they (the charter) still incur a cost ? Does Royal still get some money ? Hard to imagine Royal doesn’t take a hefty deposit, if not full payment this close to sailing. But equally hard to imagine the charter company isn’t insured against having to cancel (if it’s still solvent). It’s the passengers on the charter who may have problems. Don’t know the circumstances here but I had a charter booked on Anthem in the UK in 2020 which was cancelled and the charter company went bust. Luckily Amex were very good and promptly refunded me but I believe others who didn’t pay with Amex really had to fight. 1
