Hi Jane,

These are the hooks I purchased.  Super strong!  Don’t get your fingers caught between them.

Thanks for this.  Just ordered yesterday and they just arrived!   Will come in handy for the South Pacific cruise.

LOVE the Doris Duke Museum pictures, absolutely beautiful place.  Was this a Hal tour?

No it’s wasn’t a HAL tour.  I think the tickets are too limited for that to happen right now.  The museum usually opens up ticket sales at the beginning of each month for the following month.  Tickets for February went on sale January 6th.  Our morning group was limited to 12 people.  There is a Standby Line at the museum in case any ticket holders don’t show up.  Everyone in our group showed up, and the Standby line was empty.

Yesterday in Maui, we headed over to Kanaha Beach/Park.  The breeze kept it very comfortable and it was fun to watch the sea turtles, and locals playing on the water with their toys.

We stopped at Costco on the way back for $20 Aloha shirts and some flowers.  Both of these locations were short Uber rides.

Really pretty.  Curious how much they're charging these days.

Fantastic whale watching excursion yesterday in Maui.

Wow!  Great photo!

Years  ago we snorkelled at  Molokini Crater & were warned of sharks but they said they won’t hurt you.  We thought they were kidding but sure enough we saw several sharks.  I was so stunned I didn’t get any photos.   Was a great excursion.  Most of the people went back to the boat quickly but Mr Bear & I stayed in the water as long as we could.  Can hardly wait to go back again.

No. Hasn't been enforced in many years. Certainly since the change from "Formal Night", to "Gala Night", which was around 2017 or so. But before then it wasn't well enforced either.

Thanks. The last time we sailed Holland America was pre-pandemic and I remembered there being a sign at one point. I honestly can't remember if it was required or not when we sailed from Venice in Summer 2019. One less thing to pack at least.

Actually, no, you weren't.  This is copied straight from HAL's  FAQ's - "Know Before You Go:  Clothing" and it does NOT specify long sleeves, just collared shirts.

Know Before You Go (hollandamerica.com)

Gala Nights evoke the grand traditions of cruising as guests dress to impress for special events on board, including a five-course gourmet dinner in the Dining Room. On Gala Nights in fine dining restaurants, collared shirts and slacks are required for gentlemen. For ladies, elegant dresses, skirts, or slacks are all acceptable.

I took the information from the Navigator app, so like I said wear what the hell you want.

Wow! I'd *love* to see a shark while snorkelling - but no such luck...
