My favorite Haven perk no longer

Well I think it sounds like they are willing to pay the extra money to stay in Haven and enjoy the perks that Haven gives them, I did in fact have early access to all the smaller venues whilst on the Getaway in October-in the middle of the pandemic, they took us via the back lifts, as they do for excursions and disembarkation so that is not a problem in Covid, I do not see why this perk is not available on other ships and well, I tip on how much I am helped, this particular perk is important to me- and if you think that is entitled -well it is because I PAY for it. So if you do not pay for it do not comment

Thanks but I will comment on whatever I want, not based on a directive from you.  Meet me outside in the line to my Iconic Suite!

Well it seems a lot of people commenting on here who appear not to book the Haven have a lot to say about those who do, I have not seen any nasty comments from people who do book Haven but quite a few from those who do not. Now I have sailed around 30 times and only once in the Haven and I actually have no problem sailing without the perks of Haven (but I do like them)  , however when I pay extra thousands to book into the Haven, I do not think it makes me any better than those who do not, and your nasty comments are unwarranted and a bit childish. I am a bit confused if you have no interest in sailing in the Haven why you would be commenting on this particular topic as it is clearly aimed at those who do and those whom would be interested in any perks that may no longer be available to them in the Haven. You are putting yourself down by making those sarcastic comments!

Never really used the Concierge to escort us from the Haven to a show.  First, we didn't want to wait for the Concierge.  2nd, taking a freight elevator was never all that appealing.  Lastly, we always found better seats than those in the Haven roped area.

But, to each their own.

Not sure if you considered my comment nasty or if I 'passed' the niceness test, but I've sailed Haven about 50% of the time. And to be clear, I do have a problem with people complaining about losing out on 1 perk out of ~20 that are included with that price during pandemic times. But to each their own.

There's people who choose to complain about free perks too. The fact that we've got cruises booked and are still sailing and have something to complain about at all is still a plus in my eyes.

We book Haven cabins when we share a cabin with family or friends.  Our last cruise was on the Epic this past December.  My Danish God daughter was our guest, and we decided to take in the dinner show in the Circus, after chatting with one of the cast (amazing tap dancer!) the night before in Taste.

We were instructed by the Concierge to go to that deck 20 minutes ahead of show time, where we met a butler who escorted us to the Circus.  There were 4 of us Haven guests.  We were allowed into the Circus first, and allowed to pick our table.  This is one time where I really appreciated priority service, as the show was packed, and we had a great table near the action!

Hope this helps reassure the OP that despite Covid restrictions, NCL still offers Haven guests priority benefits.  And though special escorts from the Haven to the main theater seem to have been suspended, as mentioned above, the special Haven seating area is still there (though I believe the seats are opened to everyone 10 minutes before shows start.). I also agree that better seats are often found in the general seating area.

If you all are done taking shots at me, let’s get back to facts.  This is in no way about the main showroom.  Theater.  Theatre.  Grand theater in the bow.  One may enter there and sit wherever you like.

This about a contract that NCL said guaranteed VIP seating at all entertainment.  On the Getaway, last month, the concierge escorted a few of us down to the show rooms on deck 6 or 8 via a back elevator, and were allowed to be seated.  On the Bliss now, told to go stand in line.

Well, that is the problem.   One of these rooms has a capacity of less than 100.

Doors open at 6:30 for 7:00 pm show. One has to be in line at 5:00 pm. In order to get in.  We were even turned away a couple of times as the room was full, due to people saving seats.

I could get into more detail, but for some of it would not help your understanding.

I do not .”like” to stand in line as it quite painful for me to stand.  Walking is no fun either.  Many in the Haven are in the same situation.  I still have my legs, and feel fortunate as I know many who do not.

I am not privileged.  I am a hard working blue collar worker.  I do not enjoy having a butler.

For those you that bolster your self esteem by belittling people, perhaps reading something other than cruise critic might be of use.

Well unfortunately the concierge will not get any tip if that is the response. Last cruise on Getaway with David, the tip for concierge was larger than the butlers as I thought this perk was the best and why I booked Haven for my next cruise.

Agree. David was wonderful and recognized a need and resolved all situations.
