Wonder of the Seas – The Inaugural Cruise Live

Recommended Posts

Traveling with the kiddos? You’re on vacation and you probably want some mommy and daddy time alone, away from the kids. Register them as soon as you embark with Adventure Ocean kids club. It’s important that they go on the first day to make friends.

For the babies, remember that there are very limited slots and anywhere between 100-500 babies on a Oasis class ship (pre-pandemic). Come onboard with a plan and reserve all of your slots as soon as you embark.

I don't ever recall 4 kinds of salmon on any previous cruise!  I'm drooling 🤤

The other plate looks like a perfect sundowner snack.  I'd be inclined to stash one in the mini-fridge and have with a glass of wine on my balcony before heading out in the evenings. 🍷

You need to take a couple of pieces each to compare!

Before we get too far in our journey, let’s go back to the start. The Bird met the Wonder of the Seas at Port Everglades Terminal 18.

Lots of drop off space with porters everywhere.

There was a line for check in, but it moved fast. The first check was for a negative COVID test and checkin time. You were not allowed in the terminal until you could show your test results.

Then you had to find the right set of lines. The checked you in right in line with their iPads. You never got to a counter unless there was a problem.

Then you were cleared to embark!

One common question is “what about the power in the staterooms?”

The Bird is in a Balcony stateroom.

There are three US outlets, two European outlets, and two USB ports on the desk.

There are two (tiny) nightstands on either side of the bed. Their is a lamp on each nightstand. There is one US outlet and one USB port on the lamp.

There is a shaver plug (for shavers only) above the mirror in the bathroom with US and European power.

Note: from a cybersecurity perspective, you should never plug your device into an untrusted USB port, including on a cruise ship. Always use your plug.
