Wonder of the Seas – The Inaugural Cruise Live

Opening night of the ice show “365” was fantastic.  The ice team embarked mid-February when the Wonder arrived in the US and had to quarantine for 10 days before they could start rehearsing the show. The team was also faced with the challenge that, because of supply chain issues, 75% of the scenery and props for the show have not arrived on the ship yet, so they improvise. 
 

Fun fact: rather than using traditional spotlights to highlight the performers, trackers are built into each of the performer’s costume and the robot spotlights track them as they preform on the ice.

Start off your day with a complimentary breakfast at Johnny Rockets on the Boardwalk.

The Park Cafe serves hot sandwiches, oatmeal, and made-to-order bagels.

The technology that is going into these newer ships is amazing. Thinking back to the earlier days with the Royal Caribbean singers and Dancers, these changes are amazing.

Bird, what is the difference between Cafe Promenade and Park Cafe?  Is food included in both?  Where would I go to get my specialty coffee (refreshment package)?  Thanks!

Cafe Promenade for your specialty coffee. 
 

Cafe Promenade is on Deck 5 midship on the shopping promenade. 
 

Park Cafe is on Deck 8 midship in Central Park.

The go to place for breakfast is the Windjammer.

The Solarium also serves a smaller buffet, no kids, and is a lot less crowded.

If you wants seated and served breakfast, the Main Dining Room will take care of you.

The Diamond Lounge has snacks in the morning and afternoon. The space is small and usually too crowded.

Thank you for the virtual cruise!  So many live threads, so many different perspectives and photos!  It’s great. Sure glad I’m retired, as a boss would not like the time spent on CC this week!

No windows in the DL again? I much prefer the older ships DLs. Do they do this so people don’t stay long?

Yes indeed. It looks like the one on the Harmony where I spent less than two seconds. Fortunately there are many other exciting venues on Wonder to go to so it won’t be missed.

in the middle of a torrential rain storm, the new all-seasons Solarium keeps vacationers cool and dry. 

 

Other all-seasons features of the Wonder of the Seas includes ceramic heaters over some of the outside seating areas.
