Signature Beverage Package

I know that the package covers drinks $9.00 and under. I also noticed in the navigator app that most mixed drinks are 9.75and up. So you can only use the package on beer, wine, coffee and straight liquor?  Seems a bit of a ripoff to me.  Am I wrong?

We drank a variety of drinks in February, all included in the beverage package.  Check out the selection of alcohol in the Ocean Bar menu ,no extra charge for mixer.  “Fancy” cocktails are not are choice, I drink wine or vodka soda; husband drinks bourbon and ginger.

The current Signature Beverage Package (SBP) price limit is $11/drink.  Tip is included in the package pricing so any drink listed as $11 or less works whether it is alcoholic or non-alcoholic (limit 15/day).  Watch the price though.  Any drinks ordered with the SBP that are priced higher than $11, you have to pay their full price plus 18% gratuity.

I am still, somewhat, new here.

I am sailing in 2 days -- my first time on Holland America.

I talked with the cruise "host" or specialist (or whatever you call them) at HAL a few weeks ago.  From what he said, it was like THIS:

"the elite, as well as the signature beverage package, allow you up to 15 drinks per day" then, he added the fact that there is a MAXIMUM of "up to $50 in value per day".

I thought to myself, this makes NO SENSE AT ALL.  The most expensive drink package was around $650, for my 10 day cruise.  Let's do some math here 10 x $50 is $500.  I even had him repeat that.  And, he did.

Umm?

Umm?

So, I did not get a beverage package.

I agree totally, no sense at all, even at $5/drink(of which there are none), that’s only 10 drinks/day!  I think your specialist might be a little mixed up.

Well, I'd like to think that (maybe?) he didn't have his information correct.

He didn't. That's all there is to it.

The price of the package is about $50/day, but that is not now, and has never been, the limit on the total price of the drinks.

Sounds like another company rep who doesn't know what he was talking about.  These packages absolutely do not have an $50/day drink price cap.  From using the Signature package a few months ago, I can assure you they never cut us off at a $50 daily price cap.

From HAL's website:

Signature Beverage Package has a daily limit of 15 beverages, which includes all beverages priced at US$11.00 or less and includes beverage service charges. Beverage packages include non-alcoholic beverages such as sodas and specialty coffees. Guests must order beverages one at a time and must be 21 years or older for alcoholic beverages. Sharing is not permitted. Beverage management reserves the right to revoke the package if misused and refuse service for any reason, including service of alcoholic beverages to intoxicated guests. Package excludes purchases made in Signature Shops, Mini Bar and In-Room Dining, or beverages on Half Moon Cay.

This is  on the FAQ from the HAL website, but who knows  🙂

The Signature and Elite packages have a daily limit of 15 alcoholic beverages, which includes all alcoholic beverages with a menu price of $15 or less (Elite Beverage

Package), or $11 or less (Signature Beverage Package). The Quench Beverage Package includes unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and bottled waters 500ml and under.

The packages exclude purchases made in the Mini Bar, Honor Bar, Chocolate Seduction, In-Room Dining, beverages purchased on Half Moon Cay and any self-service draft beer.

Freestyle Coca-Cola is currently only available on the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam.

I had a flight ease problem today. Airline cancelled iteinary.  My TA, and the initial call to HAL yielded bad info.  I know times are hard, but I wonder how these people stay in business with such poor customer experience.

The initial HAL contact could not even pull up my excursions.

2 hours on hold with flight ease.   US airlines are not any better. HAL blamed it on a flight change, the original flights did not change.  I think HAL missed the ticketing deadline

I am digressing.
