3red7s Posted April 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Greetings & Happy Spring.....we are leaving this weekend for our cruise & for the 1st time, have selected the Classic Beverage Package. I know this includes bottled water. My hubby & I like to have water at night in our room. Question: Do i get bottled water from the bar & carry it back to the room, or can i request that our room attendant, keep us stocked? Thank you and have a blessed Easter. Rare 1025cruise Posted April 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2022 To answer your casino question, as long as the ship purchases a license, yes it will open at night. Expect regular sailing to do so, one offs might not.

Is this just a cut and paste error because you asked this exact question in a post yesterday
Guppy99 Posted April 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2022 Well I expect the answer to be the same... Casinos will open at 9pm if they are docking overnight, otherwise after the get underway leaving the port.

It was surprising and I think Bermudians were surprised too that their government passed that. My theory and it is just a theory is that Bermuda is probably getting increased licence fees from the additional hours and they want that revenue. . Not certain but if the steward does it it might be charged at minibar rates which are not included in your package. The casino is always closed when you are docked and reopens once you reach international waters, hence the actual time can vary.
PelicanLvr Posted April 15, 2022 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2022 Water Bottles: I have not heard of room attendants stocking "free" (on the packages) water: You used to always be able to get a bottle of water whenever you ordered a drink of any kind. Was not subject to the "no 2 drinks at a time rule". Ask for one. "I'll have a XXXX and a bottle of water". Ask if the bar has a "large" bottle or if not if you can have 2 small ones per card. There was no problem stopping twice (at different bars) to grab waters on way back to room. Tables are usually set up at port embarkation areas so grab a bottle each when returning to the ship....Same on the way ashore - grab a bottle there and not from your room supply. We have used these techniques to build the water supply in our room. Don't forget water bottles are available in places like cafe bacio and other venues you might not think of. Just ask. Crew is happy to give you whatever they are allowed.
Rare 1025cruise Posted April 15, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2022 Just getting off the ncl pearl, the casino was definitely not open 24 hours.

That's not the case for multi-day calls to Bermuda. Historically the casino opened about 8 pm while docked in Brrmuda.

Now they can open whenever they want to. 1

Usually they wouldn't open the casino and shops until after 9pm. By that time everything is closed on land. There is no land side entertainment to speak of. So, I thought it likely that the shops did not want the ship siphoning off their revenue during the day, but the ships wanted to given passengers something to do while in port overnight. Always thought that also but found out the real reason the casinos were closed all those years was for religious reasons. Bermuda is a very religious country but going back a few years they were finally able to pass legislation allowing it. The time they open is probably for your concerns. I would be surprised they would be open 24/7 since most of the stores on the island are duplicated at Kings wharf.

On our last few cruises we noticed in a normal balcony cabin, no water service. In Aqua Class, the attendant stocks two or more bottles every day and in the Retreat (Sky Suite), our attendant told us to drink whatever we wanted from the mini fridge (not booze) and he would restock for free. Rare 1025cruise Posted April 15, 2022 #19 Share Posted April 15, 2022 The shops still can't open while docked. The casino used to have to close the entire time. A few years ago, the cruiselines threatened to stop calling at Bermuda if they wouldn't be allowed to open the casinos at night, so Bermuda came up with a program to allow each ship to purchase a license to open at night. I guess that permission has now been expanded.....
