This may be a double answer. It just started last night and I don't think I changed anything. Had the same issue. Internet person on board couldn’t figure it out, either.

We are so excited!! However I do have a few questions: 1:) Since this is our first Alaska cruise, we are wondering how calm the water is or if we should expect a lot of motion. We do have a couple that 2:) Does the ship provide any binoculars for guests to use while out on deck? 3:) Does RCCL have naturalists and speakers onboard giving talks about Alaska and things to look for in terms of wildlife, etc. Not trying to step on @Ozark_Kidthread, but just returned from this itinerary (nearly the same). 1. As mentioned, aside from the first night, sailing was as smooth as glass. Even the first night’s rocking wasn’t an issue. 2.Binoculars offered for sale, usually in a kiosk around the Promenade. 3. No Naturalists on board, but they did offer excursions where some of that info was provided. I booked an excursion that included a visit to a Salmon Hathchery conducted tour by those who work at or for the hatchery and the accompanying aquarium.
lizzius Posted May 16, 2022 #253 Share Posted May 16, 2022 Hi there, may not be relevant to you, but wondering if anyone has used Adventure Ocean on this sailing or last. Beginning to worry it may be closed, and since we're on a sailing next week that would be a huge disappointment.
T-2 Posted May 16, 2022 #254 Share Posted May 16, 2022 Thank you so much for the time you're taking out of your vacation to help all the rest of us who are boarding the Ovation in the coming weeks. Not only does it add to the excitement but I am so grateful you posted the activities schedule for the wave runner. I would have felt so bad for our tween had we packed that wetsuit, even a shorty takes up serious luggage space, and then disappointed him if they don't use it in Alaska, I know they can have some really nice weather. That picture with the snow capped mountains outside the indoor pool just keeps me smiling. You have captured so much of the beauty up there. Just super thanks from all of us for adding to the anticipation! 5

Wandered by a few times last week, and by the laughing, yelling, screaming of children, it was definitely open. Saw several kids headed that way too. Sounds they were having a great time.

Rare Ozark_Kid Posted May 16, 2022 Author #259 Share Posted May 16, 2022 @Sea Dog When we were in Juneau there were shops dedicated to Christmas stuff and several that had ornaments. @singinalot I don't know if I have ever walked pass a Next Cruise without it having a Greece pic. When I see one I think of you and Nate. 6

I am sure you understand the challenge to keep up. It helps when you pitched in I was just thinking when you were doing the live I wondered why it took awhile for you to post. 2 hour time difference. 3 hours if I was on the East coast. Thanks for the help.

There is a different compass for AO groups that you receive for the week during open house or during sign up.

More fun than in the old days when you would go to the roulette table and bet half on red and half on black. We've never sailed with RC before, and I've been hearing some posts about free casino money. Does RC give every guest $8 in casino credit? How do you see this on your account once on ship? Thanks for your live review, we board in September for my wife's 40th birthday. First time going to Alaska and very excited.

The shops in Juneau is an easy walk. Skagway is a different story. We probably should of taken the bus that circles from the boat and all around town. Found out after walking it was $5 for all day.

Ask for instructions at the cash window at the casino.

We probably should of taken the bus that circles from the boat and all around town. Found out after walking it was $5 for all day. Made the same mistake. Walked from the ship to the point where they met for excursions (½ mile?) and from the excursion meeting point to "downtown" Skagway. Walked around downtown Skagway and walked back to the ship. Looked at my iPhone's "health" app and I'd walked 3 miles. They have two shuttles...one from the ship to the excursion drop off/pick up that's free. And another from the pickup and drop off point to downtown Skagway that costs $5 for the day. Loved getting my exercise, but probably would have used one or both shuttles later in the day in hindsight. 1
Rare Ozark_Kid Posted May 16, 2022 Author #272 Share Posted May 16, 2022 We are waiting for food at Skagway Brewing Co. Maybe I can post some . Grabbed a few pics before walking to town. With the wind blowing and light rain it was cold. Which we knew the bus service was $5 for all day. There was a sea lion. And a nice boat harbor. Then the walk to town.
