Can I use Celebrity OBC in the Casino?

Hello Everyone!

I’m sure this has been covered in the past but wondering how this is handled post-Covid.

Does Celebrity allow Celebrity perk issued OBC (onboard credit) to be used in the casino?  We have a Jan, cruise coming up & have a lot of OBC.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, definitely.  Plus, usually on days 1 and 2 you can use OBC to purchase casino credit and if you spend $100+ you get a bonus of 10% pp. At least that's what happened on all our 'pre-covid' cruises.

Thanks!

was I correct that you go to Casino teller and load on like $50 or as much as you’d like?

I guess I’m looking for details on how to do it.

Thanks!

There is a limit. I believe it was $2000 but don't nail me on that. Anything beyond that would make the Casino lose significant edge with more professional players.

If you are playing table games, you go to the cashier and he/she will give you promotional chips (for non-refundable OBC). When you win at the table, you will be given "real" chips. We play Black Jack and most of the time we are able to covert the majority of our non-refundable OBC into cash. When you are done playing, take the "real" chips to the cashier and he/she will give you cash.

I seem to think we cashed in at the desk for a voucher for the slot machines allotting a certain amount to use at the machines. Or as mentioned above promotional chips for the tables.  At the slot machines, we somehow entered our voucher info (maybe scanned it in) - Sorry, I can't really remember exactly, but I know for sure we used our OB credit only.  We didn't have very good luck with the slot machines but had fun at the roulette table (once they broke our promo chips down so we could split up the bidding).  We came out a bit ahead pocketing our winnings and just spending the promo chips. We had a great first time adventure "spending" some of our OB credit :) .

On the Slot machines you click the little window and create an account.  You log onto the account and click account.   You can then click transfer and transfer money from your room account to your slot machine.

That only works on the Revolutionized ships though. The Solstice Class still uses old school machines and magnet stripe cards, you got to get your casino credit as printed vouchers from the cashier and pray that they have big ones. Last weekend they gave me $3000 in 50s and a few 100s.

Yes, and then you can cash out and convert your OBC to actual cash.

Sounds like I can but how doI do it? Go to cage and ask for a certain about to be put on your card?

Yes, almost always they will load it on your card that you then use to transfer amounts to the machine.  One time they printed a ticket which could just be inserted into the machine.

If you plan to cash out and take home as much as possible then slots should be last thing you want to play. 😉

You don’t play, or not much, you just transfer the OBC to the slot machine and cash out.
