Disembarking a day early

Recommended Posts

Hi, first time Regent cruisers, sorry if this has been asked before.

At the end of the cruise, the ship will be staying overnight in Cape Town and our flight to London departs in the evening. If we could disembark a day early we wouldn’t be hanging around for a day in Cape Town. Has anyone done this on Regent?

Thanks.

Yes, did it in Rio, no problem

This should not be a problem.

A couple of questions, though:

1. Are you using Regent flights, or arranging your own flights & transfers? If the former they may charge a small fee for the change.

2. Does the cruise not have a post cruise land tour included in the pricing? You certainly would not want to miss out on the interesting areas in & around Cape Town before returning home.

Yes, after a 25 day South Pacific cruise  that ended in Papeete (a port we had been too a couple of times previously) we had our TA get approval from Regent to disembark a day early.

Months earlier once our TA got approval, we made our own air arrangements to fly home early.

Thanks for the replies - we’ll contact Regent and seek their approval.

flossie009 - we will be booking our own flights (air miles) and have spent 2 weeks in South Africa with a week in Cape Town in the past so not really interested in staying!

Understood.

You will receive a credit for the flights, and if there is an included post cruise land tour advertised on the Regent website ask for a credit on that as well.

As well as the flights you will also have to arrange your own airport transfers, but that won't be a problem.

Lady Meer:

In addition to the above comments--

You might want to review another Regent Thread.  Go to Page 3.  Topic:  "South America Question".  My contribution was #4.

GOARMY!

We’ve also done it, to us it’;s a better way—all you’re missing is a night in bed and breakfast.  The plus: at the airport you won’t have most of the ship guest at the airport.  Small lines, last crowded.

we have done this several times.  Granted, not since covid.  Never had an issue.  In fact, I think they were kind of happy to get rid of us as it is one less suite that has to be turned over rapidly on the next day.
