Blackjack Tournaments? They got'em, if so tell us more?

Do the cruise ships offer blackjack tournaments, and if so from your experience, are they lengthy?

I thought Carnival stopped having those, due to the pandemic.

I was in one on the RCL Freedom of the Seas last summer after the restart.  Have not seen them on Carnival yet from reports.

they have canceled them because of Covid...

no slot tourney either, they give the Platinum players the $25 cash now instead 

I am sure they will come back some day....

I'm not sure why they haven't come back yet, but my wife is enjoying the $25 cash benefit in the interim...I'll be platinum soon enough and will enjoy whichever benefit I can take advantage of at that time.

On the Horizon they gave us the option of $25 free play for the tables or the slots. No option for cash.

 

I wonder if my wife and I will get free cruise offers from the $25 we lost that week on the slots.😛

Personally wish they would bring the BJ tournaments back.  Won twice and it's a lot of fun if you play BJ.  Would have qualifying rounds over 3 - 4 hours and top 7 winners would play at a final table. Generally would have 2 tournaments on  a 7-day cruise.

Just got off the Mardi Gras this week. Although the Black Jack tournament was not held in the casino it WAS being held in the Limelight Lounge. They had multiple tournaments threw out the week and made announcements in the casino that you had to go to the lounge to sign up and play. NO slot tournaments and Platinum and Diamond  guest did get a $25.00 dollar casino credit.

Right there with you!    --  Even from someone who has two BJ tournament trophies to show for my efforts. There's something about the thrill of splitting 10's in those rare tournament circumstances!  😄

For some us that have sat at the final table and have a little extra age (just a little mind you) around the middle, the tee shirts were never the right size and Carnival or Player club would not exchange.  One less gift to buy I suppose. BJ tournaments were always fun though.

I recall the first time they gave me that tray of red chips - felt like I was on top of the world, LOL..

 

Now it takes a tray full of blacks to give me the same "thrill"  - - - yikes !
