Are they refurbishing all the rooms?   I know it has been a while since it's been done.  That would be nice if they kind of did a "wet" dock and worked their way thru the ship.

We personally haven’t attended them yet, partly because it’s just not our cup of tea… and partly because we end up doing other things. But if you take a look at the pictures of the patters that I am posting, you can see the production shows at 7:30 and 930 on there 😊

It’s usually not our cup of tea either but we loved the show Rock Opera.  If that’s on your ship you may want to check that one out.

There are quite a few of empty rooms on this sailing, with less than half capacity at this point… Our room is definitely not a refurbished one, although we have been smelling a lot of paint and varnishing… But those are the only rooms we have specifically seen that have been upgraded… They look really nice! We have been on the revolutionized celebrity ships, and this looks almost exactly like that kind of decorating and motif which we love!

We haven’t booked for crown grill yet, but would like to, and knowing you had an excellent experience there will definitely convince us to do it now! Was it very busy last night? What time did you go?

Have you had any opportunity to see if C302 has been upgraded like 304?  Both tables on the balcony in the photo appear to be small, more like a drink table than a table which would accommodate breakfast.  Is this an accurate understanding?

Yes, C302 was also completely redone and open yesterday when we were walking by… They had fresh paint signs on the floor entering the rooms which is why they were open to air them out. There were two tables on the balcony, one lower one that is square and great for drinks, and a taller round one though while not very large, should accommodate a couple of plates for breakfast.

Beautiful day 4 here in Juneau, sitting at about 16°C or 61°F and sunny.

I’ve got to get better about remembering to take pictures of my culinary choices… no picture of the spinach and artichoke dip that I had for an appetizer last night, but it was delicious! And I had the plaice fish for my main… it was pretty good too… Skipped on dessert so that I could enjoy a chocolate martini at good spirits after dinner.

Time to head out for today’s adventures, and enjoy the beautiful weather and sunshine in this amazing location 😊

Super amazing day!!! Sunny and a perfect 21 Celcius or 70 Fahrenheit… just wow!!!

Took the tram up to the top of the mountain, and we were rewarded with spectacular views!! even with three other ships here with us, it was still relatively quiet up there, and even the tram only had 16 people… Capacity of 60 something. The last time we were here in September 2016, it was cold and wet and raining and packed! Today was truly a joy!! ❤️

Made our way back to the cruise ship early afternoon for a nibble from Horizon Court and a couple of cocktails at the Calypso bar on the top deck to enjoy the views and warmth of the sun… Just the most amazing day all around!!!

In past years Princess has offered a specialty port item at lunch and this year's Princess info indicates the same.  (e.g. Crab cakes for Juneau...).  The item is usually offered at the grill, but sometimes it is at the Horizon Court.  On some ships the item is offered the same day in port but others it is offered the day before arriving at the port.

Does anyone know if this is being offered on the Grand on this year's sailing?

The desserts in International Cafe (monkey bread at 7 am) and Horizon Court are AWESOME!  REAL whipped cream.78A5BE7A-780E-49CE-83EA-F658A2FA1796.thumb.jpeg.41864c27012ebc20fbeb07cb1be76890.jpeg

Long shot here...Is that Karan in the International Cafe?  He was on my cruise back in March.  Doubtful if his contract would be that long.  But if it is, please tell him that the Mac Nut Peanut Butter passenger sends her aloha.  So hard to tell with masks on.

Surprised at how inexpensive jackets/sweatshirts are in Ketchikan and Juneau.  They SEEM good quality.

They are great quality - the jackets I bought in Tongass Trading in Ketchikan I still wear.

I think they are serving long contracts.

Day 5 now, and the last couple days have been very spotty on wifi… but stunning weather!! 21c and sunny… great views!!

Saw the comedian Jim McDonald last night and he was just okay. It’s just after 6am and the ship’s horn has been blowing every couple of minutes for the last hour or so as we moved through a foggy patch. There has been virtually no movement at all even though we are at the back of the ship. Glacier Bay today and it’s sunny and clear now… should make for great views!!
