back to back May 21 cruisers now on board testing?

We debarked on May 21 and were advised by Retreat Concierge that the current group of Back 2 Back cruisers were not going to be required to test in order to continue their cruise. Can anyone currently doing the May 21 back to back confirm that no testing was required on May 21, please?  We were b2b May 6 and May 15. We were taken into the terminal on May 15 and tested there. We were sent back to the ship after the tests before results were available. Told we would get results in an hour or so.  Obviously, we were negative and continued our cruises. However, I found this to be a very unsatisfactory way to handle testing versus the previous cruises where b2b were tested the day BEFORE debarkation.

It would be helpful if you would let us know which ship you are on and what port the B2B will take place.  Unusual protocol you report as on my recent cruises we were tested on-board the day before turn around day.

Reports have been posted recently that on Alaska B2B's no Testing,   Italy cruises have been tested on B2B.    Cruisers on Silhouette have reported discontinued B2B testing.

Thanks much.   I'm hoping there will be no B2B testing for our Summit Island cruise from Newark.   I'm sure the news will help you enjoy your cruise without the worry of the dreaded early morning B2B test.

Testing for b2b cruisers is determined by the requirements of port countries.  Some require testing of everyone within X days of a port call for example.

These issues are constantly changing and not the fault of Celebrity or anyone on board.  X is simply trying to solve the issue of testing when required for b2b cruisers

Just got off the Equinox yesterday, the 2nd leg of our b2b.  We were NOT tested between cruises.  However, passengers on current cruise have been notified they will be tested.  Mid-way on last week's cruise the captain announced that we had reached the 1% Covid rate and two new protocols were immediately put in place:  masks required in casino and main theater.  It was the only Covid announcement I heard during our two cruises.  My assumption is that the 1% may have also triggered the return of b2b testing.....only guessing.

There was no b2b testing for APEX in Amsterdam between the TA and the British Isles cruise but for the next cruise to the Baltics from Amsterdam there was. From what we were told it wasn't a requirement of the port countries but due to rising #s of Covid cases onboard. IMHO they should have tested between the TA and the British Isles.

On APEX on the next to the last day of the TA cruise the Captain announced we'd reached the 3% Covid rate and asked people to wear masks.....which many didn't. There was no b2b testing for the next cruise to the Baltics.

We just returned from our B2B in Alaska no B2B testing. Very few wearing masks. We had to mask on our flight to Vancouver…..Canadian rule but coming home on Friday Vancouver to Heathrow and on to Dublin no masks required…..we kept ours on. We had a fantastic time and were very surprised to receive a free upgrade….thank you Celebrity. Ship only 50% occupied so great service etc. We had absolutely no COVID symptoms on board and enjoyed a great hop on hop off bus around Vancouver and late lunch in Pan Pacific before on late evening flight.

We arrive home Saturday night exhausted and did feel a little chilled but thought just all the travel……we tested Sunday morning and were very surprised to test positive. We just have the COVID cough. We did a PCR test today to get the Certificate of Recovery. Will isolate now for 7 days and not see family or friends until we test negative probably 10 days.
