Hi,

We're heading out aboard the Encore on June 5th....which means we'll be smack dab in the middle of the Stanley Cup Conference finals. Does anyone know if any of the onboard venues can air the games live?

Never sailed during the Cup finals but have during the NFL semifinals.  There were multiple venues showing the games.  I would hope it would be the same for the SC as hockey is so much better than the NFL.  🏒🏒🏒

Just off breakaway last week,  basketball playoffs were shown regularly multiple areas of the ship. I'm sure NHL would be similar

I wouldn't be so sure. I have never seen an NHL game on a cruise ship. The only hockey I've even see was the world juniors while on a new year's cruise on MSC in the Med.

I have often cruised during regular season but never during playoffs so I guess there's a chance.

Stanley Cup Playoffs at Sea?   I had to laugh; I always thought they were on ice on land!!!

However I agree with @roxette that NCL uses Sport24 (not available to us plebs on land!!) and we have watched hockey on a previous cruise.

What I did was to ask the CD if he could get me a print out of the Sport24 schedules for the period we were on board.   He did.  I don't know what time setting they are on, you will have to convert to the time on board.

I’ve been on NCL ships before when big sporting events were on and passengers talked to the Cruise Director in advance of the game and the CD arranged for the event to be shown in the atrium and on the tvs in the bars.  Sometimes all you need to do is ask.

Was on the Dawn October 30, 2013. Boston -Bermuda and return to Boston. Being a cruise out of Beantown, primarily a "local" crowd.

Boston and the Cardinals are in the World Series. Boston is up, 3-2, in a best of 7 series. The good folks on the Dawn arranged to have the game shown on the big movie screen in the Atrium.

The place was packed. My two adult sons and I had front row seats in what was then the Blue Lagoon ( now O'sheehan's). The chicken wings and fries flowed for hours!! There must have been a thousand people crammed in the Atrium and surrounding area  watching the game.

When the Red Sox won, the place exploded in jubilation. The noise was deafening!! I'm sure the creatures of the sea were wondering what those crazy humans were up to! Was a cruise to remember!!

There has only been one instance where I have experienced sporting events not being available.  Nov 2021/TA Rome to NY on EPIC.  No NFL and it was never really explained why the games were not available.

As a sports fan, I sincerely hope your viewing choices are available for you.

Playoff games were difficult to find on the May 8 Encore sailing.  In the fall on Bliss, DH had been able to see regular games on the TV hidden in by the casino bar, but no luck this time anywhere he checked.  He didn’t bother asking about switching the channel in any of the venues, however.  And whenever he looked, Sport24 had on cricket or soccer/football or something else, never hockey during the actual game time.

With the streaming internet package and a VPN, it’s just barely possible to use either the NHL or the Sportsnet app to see the games if you have a subscription.  A little fuzzy and a bit lagging at times, but better than no games at all.

Yes, I made my husband go on an Alaska cruise with my mom and I during playoffs.  The Leafs were losing (as usual) anyway, so it was maybe less painful for him that he couldn’t really watch many of the games.

You spelled "Lightning" wrong.  😜

Let's just both hope it is a great and entertaining series. Both teams took down the #1 seed in their respective divisions. And both have truly outstanding goaltenders.

Yeah, but only one of them has Reavo......so......

(I'm a VGK fan first, a Predators fan second, and in the absence of them...I'm chasing former knights :P)

Just off the Breakaway.  Playoff hockey was on in every bar with a tv and in the cabin.

Good. Time to bug the cruise director at the M&G and see if I can get some of the games on the Atrium screen 😛
