Early Bird vs Night Owl on Celebrity

We are split, DH is an early bird usually out by 8 PM while I want to enjoy music in the lounges and the showroom until late night.

If he were to turn in early and me roam this ship solo, would I stand out like a sore thumb on Celebrity?  Other lines like RCCL you would just blend in with the crowd.

I don't think so. My DH also is up early, usually at what we call 1st breakfast at the Oceanview by 7am. There's usually a group of regulars he runs into who share his morning enthusiasm. He stops at Cafe Bacio and brings me coffee and a crossaint for when I wake up an hour or more later.

He's in bed by 9pm, I'm out and about until 10-11pm. Neither of you will stick out at all.

I would think it would depend on what you are doing while roaming...IMHO, do not worry what you look like, as long as, you are enjoying the ship and its venues.  You paid for this cruise and deserve to enjoy all the time possible!

I'm up for the sunrise every morning and out and about on the ship while my husband often sleeps in.  I've never felt out of place in the mornings.  I can't imagine it would be different in the evenings.  Couples don't do everything together and plenty of solos will likely be on your cruise.  Enjoy your cruise the way you want to enjoy it!

We are a couple like you. I spend many evenings walking around the ship. I either shop, go to a show or occasionally sit at a bar.  I would actually love to find others who are in the same boat (or on the same boat).

As a suggestion to you (and the OP), have you posted a question on your Roll Call? There might be other cruisers with similar issues that you can connect with that way.

I honestly haven't. The last couple of trips have had a very quiet Roll Call. I'll try it for my next one.

Why do you think anyone would notice?

i think you have a ego issue 🤷‍♂️

I go off many times by myself to get drinks, snacks and etc and don’t care what anyone thinks and don’t care.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I have been on one Celebrity cruise and my wife and son are always in bed by 10:30/11.  I would walk them to our room and then hit the casino or club for hours.  I never felt strange or out of place and met a lot of nice people out and about.

Which ship?  And what is late night to you?  After midnight? On E-Class there is a lot more to do.  A bit less on S-Class but you might find some people and activities.  On M-Class you might be wandering with the crickets chirping.

When I was 10 YO(1962) I got a newspaper route delivering the  Knoxville, TN morning newspaper.  I was up at 5:30, and had my 30 papers delivered by 6.

I have never had any desire to change that habit.

Early to bed, early to rise-------

Hi

What club is that? .most bars on S class are deserted by 11:30.

You get a few in the Sky Lounge until 12:30.

I left the Ensemble Lounge on Silhouette last month at 12:30 (the last ones in there) went up through the Sky Lounge and on to the Ocean View for a snack and I saw maybe a dozen people.

Celebrity is definitely not a cruise line for night owls.

The OP will feel comfortable being on his own of an evening.

My hubby and I generally cruise with our friends that we met here on CC.  I generally am ALWAYS the first to get up and I can generally be found in Cafe al Bacio.  My girlfriend is usually next, followed by our husbands.  She and I usually plan out our day in advance.  I don't really think any of us stay up real late as we are all still working and the internal clock just works the way it does.  You won't stick out....lots of people are early birds.  To be honest, probably more out in the morning than in the evening.  We just do our thing and let others do theirs.  Nothing to worry about! 🙂

LOL--- Absolutely not---- Unless:

- You are 84 yrs old and were seen receiving a big kiss from a beautiful 32 yr old wearing her new pre-loved Rolex. You know, the one you had no intention of buying until, etc. etc.

- You " enjoyed " too much wine at dinner and were " Dancing in the Moonlight " (  The Mavericks Band ) at 3 am.

- You were playing blackjack and splitting Kings, causing the " table " to lose. Try telling the " losers " that you had a " feeling ".

- You were complaining at GR because your Waiter forgot your 3rd shrimp cocktail and you were removing the gratuities.

- You were tasting the food at the buffet ----- No forget that one--- Too many do it, so you won't " stand out " for that one.

Just go and enjoy your cruise.

You have no worries at all.  This is part of the beauty of cruising!

What you mean we after being married for 27 years we don't have to be attached at the hip?  Seriously, I have always acted like we were on past cruises.  If he didn't want to do something, I never did on my own.  I'll have to try it out.

Love the buffet bit.  I remember living in Vegas I went to Bellagio for the Seafood Buffet and someone couldn't wait their turn for the peel and eat shrimp and just grabbed handfuls by their bare hand.  Needless to say I did not have peel and eat shrimp that night.

I sailed on the Constellation, late Jun 2019, 10 days out of Venice, I went to the Reflections lounge five of the ten nights and it was fairly crowded until 1 or 2 am.  Silent Disco nights, I believe there three of them, drew a lot of folks each and every time.

My point is, yeah, Celebrity is not Carnival, where there are a lot more late night party type people, however, it is not dead at midnight like my Princess Alaska cruise was.
