Your favorite mixed drink aboard ship

Recommended Posts

When I get into a shot drinking frenzy, I like to do several shots, like:  Ouzo, Jägermeister, Fireball Whiskey, and then the ultimate challenge, The Boiler Maker.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

For the lighter nights:  Peppermint Schnapps, Lemon Drop Schnapps, Butterscotch Schnapps.  But, always finish up with a shot of Jägermeister or Fireball Whiskey or both.

My first drink on the ship is always a lava flow! Going out of Galveston this time, and it’s my understanding that we will have a limited drink menu until we sail a certain distance. Maybe one of your go to drinks will be on that limited menu since I believe the lava flow is not!

at least we still can drink in port to some extent.

I don't know if this is still true but they add tax to you're drinks (anything purchased) while still in port or within 3 miles of the U.S. Coast.  So, even today, I don't drink until the Casino opens.  Just a thing of mine, I don't like paying taxes if I don't have to.  Well, I have been know to have a beer while still within the international boundary.  But, that is all.

My regular drink is The Glenlivet or a good Rye straight up.

When I want to go wild and have a mixed drink I mix The Glenlivet or rye with one cube of ice. 🧊

Everything, especially the mixers, in moderation folks! 🥂

Lava Flow should not be a problem. They should have one rum available

Mine is a Strawberry Blond made with coconut rum instead of vodka and an Amaretto Sour.

Love how this was the first reply! My GF lives off Strawberry Blonds when onboard.. and I even make it at home. She hasn't tried customizing it. I will say there's some inconsistencies in the bartenders when it comes to this drink. I've seen it delivered without mint, with a lemon wedge, etc.

On our last cruise I think I introduced the drink to 3-4 people. One guy (with Bev pack) kept ordering different drinks at Schooner bar. I asked why, and he was just trying them out. I told him to order a strawberry blond, and after that, it's the only drink I saw in his hands the rest of the week!
