USB Tower Chargers

Recommended Posts

I know extension cords are not allowed.  Can anyone tell me if a USB tower falls in the category of extension cords?  Also, what about a plug (no cord) with 3 USB ports? Packing for a dual vacation (land and then cruise) with a variety of electronics to charge and don't want to have my luggage held if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

I honestly didn’t realize extension cords were a no no and brought them on multiple cruises with no problem. Now with the well placed outlets, I just bring the usb multiple port things and haven’t had a problem. I don’t think you’d have a problem with a usb tower

Maybe someone can show me where on the U.S. Royal Caribbean website says Surge Protectors/Suppressers are prohibited.

There are several people that say that they have had them confiscated at the embarkation terminal.  But, I just can't find it in official writings.  Someone once, in another forum showed a link to it but it was actually Australian RCCL site, not a US RCCL site.

I've had 120v outlet block with surge suppresser on it on every cruise, that includes two cruise lines, I've been on with no problem.

https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy

This page doesn't mention surge suppressers/protectors at all.
