I love these. What a time capsule. My favorite part is calling Cabo San Lucas "sleepy". Our first cruise was our honeymoon in 1989 and we sailed on Dolphin. It looked very similar to the Pacific Princess. I remember seeing Carnival Jubilee in port in St. Maarten and thinking, "Wow, I couldn't imagine being on a ship the large and fancy." How times change.

Our first cruise was on the Carnival Jubilee in 1991, and we were astounded at how big it was. We were totally impressed with all it had to offer, which seems funny now with what's on the new ships.

Ohhh, you were once of those lucky people on the Jubilee. 🙂 I think that ship was 50,000 tons, which today would be a tiny ship and marketed as boutique. In March, were on RCCL Oasis, then the largest ship afloat. Never in a million years could I have imagined a ship like that when I was sailing on the Doplhin.

Also the instructions to contact your travel agent or MAIL in the coupon for a brochure!  I don’t remember life being slower as I had 3 little kids.  I do remember needing to go to a travel agency to get a brochure and book most travel.

My first cruise was on carnival’s Mardi Gras in March 1978. Miami, Nassau, St Thomas. Only time I was in an inside cabin, down below.

Love the brochure. Our honeymoon cruise in 1989 was about the same price as we pay for an average Caribbean cruise now. Of course there were only 600 people on that ship so they didn't have the economy of scale.

No need to as back then people actually knew how to dress as adults.
