We had a light lunch.   Iain had the English Pea Soup and I had the Bronzino.    We both had the Pear Clafoutis.

I downloaded the APP so I can see the menu in Luminae.  For some reason, I thought ever ship would have a different menu.   I mentally chose what I'm going to have for lunch on the first day and I chose the soup.  How was the meal?

If you search for it, put in April 2024, then filter by Solstice.  It departs from Sydney on April 9, 2024.

Thank you, as I thought it was Edge.  That is the one that I want, as the two prior are booked.  Again, thanks for answering my question.

Settling in to a new room is always both fun and full of work.

We met out Room Attendant, Apollo and our Suite Host, Alexander.   Both really nice and helpful in getting everything together.  Honestly I'm going to stop wasting my time with the Shoreside Concierge as nothing got through to them with my regular requests.   Nothing big and they took care of them quickly.   I just have a few standard requests.   2 Isotonic pillows, an extension cord, a booking for Tuscan on the first night and  swap the Champagne to Chardonnay.   All were taken care of efficiently and Mar, the Retreat Host got us into Tuscan.

Being a long cruise I decided to purchase Iain a Premium Bar Setup with Grey goose.  Alexander even being on the ship for 7 months had never heard of one so said he would sort out.    In the late afternoon a knock came at the door and the Grey goose was delivered by the Bar Manager.

Just one problem yet to sort out.   Our room was absolutely freezing to the point I had to put a sweater on.    Alexander had maintenance look at it when we were at dinner and when we returned the thermostat was finally working and we could control the temps.    Especially on a cold weather cruise we wanted to make sure we had heat.

Same here on our May cruise.  Our requests relayed to the shoreside concierge were not relayed to anyone on board.  We also had Apollo!  He was great. In Luminae we also had a great waiter.    His name was Yuda.   Could you let me know if you see him?  He may have gone on vacation.

Have a wonderful trip to you both. I love following along on your voyages. I live in Halifax and I hope that you have your rain coats with you . The weather doesn't look very good for when you are in port tomorrow !

John , What day do you get to Greenland ?

I always take a screenshot and save in my Favorites.    The lines in Bold are Chic Nights.   The > indicates we turn our clocks forward and loose an hour sleep.  We lost our first hour last night.

Bit late to the party……just home from 5 days in Paris to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Wishing you both a wonderful B3B it’s a great fix until our next cruise in late October. The laundry will have to wait until I have caught up on the 14 pages😉😉

Wow.. 50 Years... That is so exciting to hear.    They say Paris is for lovers....

We had the same, exact issue!  But, tbh, we found the air conditioning turned to frigid in many locations on the ship.  Lesson learned:  need to bring additional sweaters and shawls - even on Carib cruise!  DH needed his thermals lol

We have thermals with us just in case.   I think the coldest will be in Greenland.    When I checked today it looks like about 40F

They pretty much have a standard set of menus for all ships and all dining rooms.  Some of the ships like E-Class have a couple specialty everyday items that represents each theme but beside that the same.    They have a 15 day rotation for dinner and I believe either a 5 or 6 day rotation for Luminae Lunch.

So far only had 2 lunches in Luminae.    Very impressed with the food and service.   A well oiled team that all work together to deliver a nice service.

Thanks --- We are prepared for everything.    We have some waterproof slickers that were really handy when we were in Scotland.    Being a Scot Iain's second favorite expression is -  "It's only water".

We didn't plan anything for Halifax tomorrow.   Just thought we would do our favorite things ... walking around with no land and see what we find.   We have to get in our 16km.    We also sometimes just grab a train or bus and explore.

Woke up a little late with timezone change.

Captain reported calm seas and 80 F temps.

Perfect day for walking.   Really a different dynamic then many cruises.  Ship was empty at 10:00.  Now chair hogs and no winds. How long will this last.

Ok.  Back to walking.   My regular walking 🚶‍♂️ route on nice days is  Deck. 11 and 12.  I walk the track but make a detour up to Retreat Sundeck around the front of ship and back down.  Around the ship up the stairs to deck 12 Rooftop Terrace.

Duck tour is fun.  There's also great ice cream along the water - I forgot the name though, might be Black Bear since it's at the waterfront and K know that's where we were.
