Super Mario hits 10,000 cruise posts!

Recommended Posts

We were on this cruise with Mario, he spoke at the Crown & Anchor top tier event. What impressed me the most is that the large cake they had put out to celebrate the 10,000 points, he asked for it to be taken to the crew mess for them to enjoy, said that passengers have ample choices of desserts and that the crew are the ones that should get to enjoy it. My son spoke with him after watching the cabin tv interview with Mario and Elvis (cruise director) and he was very kind to him.

I like that; I’m sure the crew enjoyed that treat!

It might be a write off though, if he's having work meetings with those drinks 🤔. In fact the whole cruise is probably a write off of some sort.

Its actually pretty smart.  You figure an interior room runs maybe $500/wk, probably less with the single supplement discount.  Plus, he gets additional discounts/points/free cruises he earns.  He gets all meals prepared and a clean room everyday.  So, it costs him less than $2,500 a month.  I thought I read somewhere he has a condo/apt near the port so can get off the ship to do his laundry, etc..  He is clearly pinacle, so gets 6 free drinks and internet a day.  If that's not enough, you figure even playing only 1 hour a week in the casino, he is probably at least "prime" for club royale so free drinks while in the casino.  A good gig if you can make it work....

Yeah, I know.  And he would probably be treated better, even if he didn't want better treatment.

And I'm sure there are high tier X and RCI passengers that expect better treatment than their lowly Diamond or Elite reciprocal status.

Most know and accept that the reciprocity only goes up to Diamond or Elite.  A D,  D+ or Pinnacle passenger transfers to Elite on Celebrity, and a Celebrity Elite, Elite +and  Zenith passenger transfer to Diamond on RCCL.  We were D+ when we sailed our  first  Celebrity cruise  and were very happy to receive Elite status.  Elite/Diamond have slightly different benefits, but both are generous.
