There have been multiple posts on here in the past about that happening.  It's all I am saying.  They know if a guest is gambling or not.

Thanks. Although I don't withdraw more than one time per leg, I'll keep it in mind.

That's only because they send reminders to close your account.

You might be able to do that once, but then they will lock you out.  There is an expectation to gamble.  At least something.

On my last cruise, I set up an account, bet $1.00 playing Blackjack on the stateroom tv, closed out the account and cashed out at the Casino. A couple of days later I did the same thing again. No problem. One reason I did this was my daily account was showing a decrease in my refundable, not my nonrefundable.

Following is from my final account. Wish I had saved one of my daily accounts.

28-Jul OCEAN Games 200.00

30-Jul OCEAN Games 150.00

Cruise was from July 22-August 5.

TV is going to be new mode of access for me.  I had seen this mentioned before.  Will certainly try it out on the TV.  Smoke-free!!!!  (Yes, I know there is no smoking at the tables).

If I understand correctly, you can play table games through the app, no matter where you are on the ship.  Even in the Sanctuary...

I could be wrong (Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last) the only refundable

OBC I know of is military benefits. That would be 3 b2b 14 day cruises to have $750 OBC....but I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will be happy to tell me 🤣

Any unused OBC amount that comes directly from a cruise agency as an extra perk is refundable (I actually received such refund on a few occasions).

Yes, but how long did it take?  It's now like the blood and turnips thing.  Takes forever.

They need the money and are going to hold onto it as long as possible.

Inadequate staffing?  How is it that they have adequate staff to take your cruise deposit instantly but not enough staff to refund monies likewise as fast?

My wife and I were on the island princess for a transatlantic which ended in South Hampton on June 13, 2022.   We had a $740.00+ credit on our shipboard account.   Not ever having had that in 20+ cruises, I figured that the money would be credited back to our credit card on file NOPE!

After a couple weeks had passed I called Princess and endured about a 3 hour wait... to be told that "I must transfer you to the business office"  I was on hold 90 minutes for that.   The young lady then td me "to be patient, return of credits must be paid in check form and take 6 to 8 weeks.

I called back after 8 weeks... and after another 2 hour hold time ( the first representative gave me her "direct" number) and this representative told me.. "actually they are taking up to 10 weeks now".    Earlier this week I called back (10 week mark) and was on hold for 2 hours, someone picked up and then hung up on me.   I am beyond frustrated with Princess.  Heck of a way to do business, especially  for an "Elite" status passenger. I'm looking for a new cruise line... is there any line out there that doesn't keep you on hold for a minimum of 90 mins?

Lesson learned, I'll NEVER make that mistake again.

Update: the check came today from Bottom line - Pay mode X.

It took 11 weeks.   So this matter is closed.  Thanks so much to this group for your help and understanding in this matter.   Now I know what to do should I ever have a shipboard account credit in the future.

All the best, and Thanks 😊

I've had a couple long waits when Covid first hit due to cancelled cruises.  One time it took a little while to get a refund back to the credit card but they were really overwhelmed.  I think they were doing them all manually then too.  Overall the service has been very good and my Princess Cruise Advisor is great.

Update:  Just received the check today.  Four weeks to the day.  The estimate was 2-3 weeks, so I guess I'm doing really well.

We also received a check today from Paymode X for the refundable OBC for our cruise on the Enchanted Princess that ended on August 5, 2022.

Just one man's opinion:

I agree about the smoke, I've never been a smoker, and dislike smoky surroundings as much as the next person.  But somehow, this does not sound fun to me.  No noise of machines paying off, the fun of watching other people and their "lucky" charm moves etc., everything about just being in a casino.  This seems even worse than drinking alone.

We were also on this specific cruise but neither us or our travel companions (3 couples, 3 accounts) have yet received our refundable OBC. I think for UK residents this is returned to our credits cards. Can't see why this should take longer than a cheque by snail mail 🙂
