The issue is the location. The open minisuites are all aft and starboard side and lower levels. The minisuites are nice but I am not sure about the location. I will probably bid the minimum and see what happens as we have a very nice balcony location now. The extra room is nice but the walk is not so much. We last did this cruise in 2009 and the minisuite fare was not much more than the upgrade now..

Hopefully they will add us in later, but the initial information indicated UK was not included.😞

Also said that he is fully paid up for a cabin on this cruise and this cabin was going to be for a relative. Maybe, just ,maybe, the fabulous software involved in the bidding sees the person has already paid in full for a cabin and sends out the offer not realizing the offer is for a different cabin than the fully paid one.

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted September 22, 2022 #383 Share Posted September 22, 2022 Skipped pages 14 and 15. Still have not seen a single poster reporting that their bid has been accepted and what the results were. It is approaching the end of September. Notices went out September 6. I am not a patient person. Hurry up Princess. 3

I guess we shall see what happens here. 🤷♀️

Not that would really make a difference. Lol Guess we are just curious. 🤔

Rudy888 Posted September 22, 2022 #387 Share Posted September 22, 2022 A lot will depend on what is available. We are booked btb and of January, guaranteed balcony cabin, I guess we will see what happens.
wowzz Posted September 22, 2022 #388 Share Posted September 22, 2022 Not sure if knowing what bids are successful actually helps that much. Every cruise is different with varying occupancy levels. Just because you know what a winning bid for a minisuite on Sky is in November 2022, that has no bearing whatsoever on a bid on Island in June 2023.

Hurry up Princess. In most cases I would not expect bids to be successful until close to sail date. Why would Princess accept a bid early when there is the possibility of a more acceptable bid coming in? So, how many cruises that bids have been available to make are very close to to sail date (or have sailed already)?

There have been several ships that have sailed in Alaska, Mexico, New England, and down under since the start (don't have a count, but at least 10/maybe?). Some of the ships may not qualify. I am not keeping close track of this promotion. Just really curious. I am just surprised that not one single poster has come back to say they "won" the lottery. I can't find the original verbiage, but as I recall the bidding was only effective starting with cruises sailing (about) October 1st or later. So, none of those have sailed yet. 1

I rebooked on Discovery Oct 8th. I booked on a casino promotion (should have been a balcony, but they were all sold out so I took an inside room). I bid on the ocean view and a balcony. Bid the lowest amount. I'm glad someone mentioned the casino issue above so if I randomly get selected with my lowball bid, I know what to do. Not expecting to win the bid as it appears the cruise is sold out. Did you bid on all 3 of your cruises? Maybe you’ll get it and in the same cabin!! lodinayr Posted September 23, 2022 #396 Share Posted September 23, 2022 I bid for an upgrade on my Enchanted Princess October 1 sailing. I got upgraded! Bid $210/pp for upgrade from balcony to mini-suite. Paid for upgrade as directed. Was pretty seamless. 13

Im on the same cruise (first date cruises starting the bid process, Oct 1) Unfortunately, I have not won our bids that we placed (yet). The interesting thing I wanted to share is I have been able to modify our different bids until this evening (9 days before embarkation). Now that web site (from link on email) has “bid received” where I use to be able to change amount with the sliding bar. There is no way to change the bid amount or cancel the bid. Just sharing that info to everyone that has been curious 🙂 Cheers, John 1
