CaroleSS Posted September 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2022 We've not seen a chocolate buffet in years. loooong time ago they used to do a nice buffet in the MDR on a sea day and there was a chocolate waterfall......but I don't think they do that any more. Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted September 15, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Yes, everyday they'll most likely be something, almost always a cake. I they have chocolate cake every day in the MDR (and therefore room service) and most days at the coffee shop. I'm overall satisfied with the X's food at the price point yet their desserts don't suit my tastes, if eating a chocolate cake I want a punch of chocolate yet find X's cakes bland. The one exception is the cookies, they're just not worth the calories unless you're on an E-Class ship which has the Eden Cafe, those are great soft baked cookies and brownies which are usually only available on sea days during lunch hours. miched Posted September 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) We were on the Apex in March. It was either the last day or the day before they had a chocolate fountain in the buffet. It reminded me of Hersey Chocolate Syrup. Ther were also many other chocolate deserts. For what my opinion is worth everything looked better than it tasted and for me that includes most of the deserts and pastries on Celebrity The Chocolate Chip Cookies and Brownies in Eden Cafe are fantastic. The Flaming Apple or whatever it is called in Luminae is also Chocolate on Steroids. You may find a few places where the chocolate is awesome Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅😣 1376F8AB-EBFB-4465-BC96-8ECACED10ED9.MOV Edited September 15, 2022 by miched
davekathy Posted September 15, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2022 There's always the pillow chocolate in the evening in your stateroom. 🙂🍫
GORDONCHICK Posted September 15, 2022 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2022 I learned a long time ago that X's desserts are more French, which means less sugar. That means less flavor to many.
canderson Posted September 15, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2022 In the dining room when chocolate layer cake is offered, order a slice and a shot of Gran Marnier. Lay cake on side. Take a fork and poke holes in the cake. Pour about 1/2 the shot over the cake. Sip the rest.
Rare chemmo Posted September 15, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Is it just me or do others find the Cafe al Bacio pastries and biscuits nicer than the restaurant/buffet ones? Personal chocolate recommendation is the chocolate soufflé in Murano.

I am sure it is available in Eden on every Edge class ship Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 2D2CAFAB-11FF-45EB-83BD-A99170F4A5A0.MOV Edited September 15, 2022 by miched
