Another outstanding day.....this time in Corfu. All 8 of us in our family group enjoyed the HOHO bus, and had a fantastic lunch at Rex.

Tonight is Sabatini's. Tomorrow is a sea day and then we hit Messina.

just  as a heads up, the hand soap in the cabin is those tiny motel bars

We are on the 11/17-12/2 Transatlantic leg of this cruise, booked since April for a guaranteed deluxe balcony cabin. Still not assigned! Getting nervous. 😐                It’s the first of our many Princess cruises with a guaranteed cabin.

Anyone have this experience?

Today we explored the hilltop town of Montepulciano for the first time (we have been to all of our prior stops in the past).

If you venture out to this quaint wine town, wear good walking shoes as the inclines in the town are extreme.  Also, parking is a real challenge to find.  It is around a 1.45 hr drive from Florence thru beautiful countryside.

We have had guaranteed cabins a few times.  Usually assigned a week or so before sail date.  Once it was assigned one day before sailing.

We took the bullet train from Venice to Florence yesterday and had a dinner at a Tuscan restaurant. We did a walking tour this morning of Florence. We got to see the great statue of David by Michelangelo.  I'm not sure how nudity is liked here.  So, if you want to see pictures of David look us up on the ship.  We saw lots of statues and churches and building architecture. The tour ended over a mile from our hotel and the guide bid her farewell. We were left in a square with high level shopping and a place for lunch. So, we had Lasagna to rest my aching feet. We did manage to find our way back to the hotel using google maps. We crashed for several hours. Tomorrow is a travel day to Rome. We can rest our feet for a day.

We're joining this cruise in Barcelona, 11/6, and still don't have our room assignment.

I found out my guaranteed cabin allocation three days before boarding.  They haven't forgotten you, they just have to go through all the other processes first (like up-bidding).  Don't stress!

Another cloudless day in the Mediterranean, this time in Messina, Italy.

Enjoyed the noontime show of the clocktower and some strolling around town. Since it was Monday, many shops were closed.

Italian themed menu in the dining room tonight.

Tomorrow Napoli and our private 8 pax cab to Pompeii.

We spent our last full day in Tuscany walking around Florence.  We walked a total of 12 miles today.  We visited the Bardini Gardens, which have a great view of the city.

The DW's did their shopping at the San Lorenzo street vendors.  We lunched again at the Central Market.  A lot more people in town today versus last week.

Tomorrow we will check into our hotel near the Rome airport (FCO) and return the van to the airport.  On Wednesday, we board the ship!

I’m joining this cruise on the 17th of November through December 2nd.

Looking at the excursions for the port stops, I’d love to hear any recommendations! Anyone know if the port cities are close to the ship or if Princess is shuttling us in?

We join you all on Nov.17 after staying in Rome for a visit, using AirBnB in Monteverde near Trastevere. Would another couple like to share a ride to the port at Civitavecchia that morning? It would cost €100 per couple including tip.

I’m in touch with Bobs Limousine Service. We used them previously and they are reliable. If you are staying in Trastevere or near the Vatican it would be convenient.

If interested let me know : johnerinb at g mail dot com.

See you onboard!

Check out the Roll Call for the Oct 26th sailing.  There are tons of planned excursions on the spreadsheet that cover your segment.

Perfect weather day again, and a really enjoyable stroll around Pompeii. Really happy that we decided to go early in the day because it got very busy later in the morning.... almost annoyingly busy.

Turnaround day tomorrow and I was told that we will have about 500 less pax on the next leg, so around 2300 people.

Thank you for the passenger count.  How has the internet been onboard?
