Any tips for Panorama

It’s been quite awhile since our last cruise, 2019 to be exact.  Any post-COVID changes that I need to know about?!  Like, are we still able to

bring on soda and one bottle of

wine at embarkation?

In regards to the ship, what is the best and worst things (in your opinion of course 🙃) about the Panorama?

Thanks in advance \m/

Best for me is the specialty dining. JiJi's is I think the best specialty restaurant for the money on Carnival...and only on a few ships. You also have Teppanyaki, Sushi, Cucina, and the Steakhouse. Pig & Anchor has a brewery. If you're a beer person you'll like the additional choices. And they have the best bloody mary. I think the Hero's Lounge is the best sports bar on Carnival.

negatives are less comfortable main lounge seating and a small comedy club.

For embarkation lunch, go up the stairs near the rear buffet, to the Asian or Italian restaurant (there is an upcharge for dinner, but both are free for lunch).

When we were on Panorama a couple months ago, the buffet was crazy busy during embarkation and people could hardly find a free table.  We went upstairs to the Asian restaurant (it's called JiJis at night but something like the Asian Wok during the day).  It was very quiet with just a few other couples in the entire restaurant.  Service was amazingly quick and the food was really good.  By later in the week people had figured it out and lines were long and service was slower.

My other favorite thing about Panorama is Fresh Creations on the serenity deck (made to order salads where you select the ingredients and they put it together for you).  Really good salad with different options than their typical salad bar.  We grabbed a salad and brought it down to a lower deck and we had like 8 people ask us where to get it.

The first time I did it (2020) we entered deck 4 by the casino. In my second embarkation (2021) they had us walk along the outside deck 4 to the front so we entered by the atrium even though the ramp came to the casino area.

The Panorama is my favorite Carnival ship and for me the best thing about her is the Havana area and everything it has to offer.

The layout of the ship is great.  There are a lot of quiet places to read and enjoy the calm if that’s what you like to do.

Favorite restaurants include Fahrenheit 555, Blue Iguana, Seafood Shack and Cucina. Service is great and the food is amazing.

The waterslides are a lot of fun, and in my opinion, the production shows are really good.  At 11:00 PM every night the Limelight Lounge turns into a nightclub with a great DJ and a great crowd.

For us, embarkation and debarkation were efficient and well organized. We walked on the ship onto deck 4 by the casino doors but we had to walk outside to the front of the ship where we entered into the Atrium.

Thanks so much for the tip!  We will definitely head there for lunch on embarkation day.  Do you happen to remember which dressing options were available at Fresh Creations?

best thing about the panorama is the elevator system.  you punch in your floor ahead of time and get assigned an elevator car.   no more line jumpers!

its a nice ship.  have fun!

Really?!?  So, if someone hops in they’re going to whichever floor we selected?  Once inside the elevator are you able to make a selection?

Yes, that is the best part!  My favorite was an amazing Coconut Pineapple Vinaigrette, but they also had Balsamic Sherry Vinaigrette, Moroccan Vinaigrette, Caesar, Ranch, and Blue Cheese.

Unfortunately if it gets too windy, they close the serenity deck and Fresh Creations, so don't put off going (it might not be available later).  We were cruising during Hurricane Kay and it was closed for several days.

I watched a video, it will only go to the one floor. It’s a pretty cool system. You might YouTube it.

On a typical Mexican Riviera Cruise, the winds will be strongest on the return trip once you get north of Cabo San Lucas. So on a standard Saturday-Saturday Panorama cruise, the winds will be pretty strong starting Thursday afternoon/evening until you reach Long Beach on Saturday. In my experience, 5 prior MR cruises, it's not unusual for the Captain to even close the outdoor decks (especially at night) due to the high winds. So get your Serenity Deck time (and salads) early in the cruise.

The lack of casino bar and small comedy club are the stains of this ship. Other than that, I loved it. Heroes tribute bar is the best sports bar I have seen on a Carnival ship. The food options are plentiful. Everything is in rather good working and physical condition. I really enjoyed the itinerary too.

We ere on the Horizon the Panorama sister ship in July.  both of these tips are legit.

the salad is realllly good  i was impressed.  and the embarkation day for the mongolian wok was not crowded.  service was a little slow.   we are n Panorama for thanksgiving week so excited

The sept 24-oct 1 cruise wasnt like . The elevators stopped on multiple floors after we got on. Most people complained about the elevators.
