bettyboop16 Posted November 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2022 Our last cruise was 2010 on the Zuiderdam. Not much going on after 10 pm. Sometimes only 2 couples in the Crow's Nest & we were 1 of the couples. During the day no music on the Lido. People were playing cards or napping by the pool. Susanmaz Posted November 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2022 HAL has changed greatly since 2018, let alone 2010. So many small things. HOWEVER the reward staff are so phenomenal
Susanmaz Posted November 7, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2022 I meant to say the CREW and staff are phenomenal.

The newest ships have a big screen for movie time at the Lido Pool. While these are generally at night, I recall some also shown in the afternoon (in 2019). https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/onboard-activities/cruise-activities/movies-on-board.html

Still the same....just the way we like it.... If you want a loud lido, we learned the hard way on the Sky Princess last March.....Lido pool music blaring all day...and if not music, then movies playing loudly...and if not movies, then a gambling/casino game playing loudly on the TV screen. You may prefer Princess if you want a loud lido. As far as us, we will never make that mistake again. LOL. (Also, the lido pool area becomes useless during bad weather on Princess...no retractable roof....on HAL, we can continue to play cards and nap!)

Iamthesea Posted November 7, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 7, 2022 The pool music subject keeps coming up on these threads. I have been on a number of HAL cruises, and although I don't recall a live band being around the pools during the daytime, I do recall some piped-in music on first HAL cruise back in 2005. Questions for others. Is there piped in music around any of the pools? We do enjoy some easy listening. Does HAL have a night time deck party these days? We enjoy watching others dance, but we are not the partying type. 🤔

Never seen that....But the Pinnacle ships (K'dam, NS, RD) show a movie on lido at night.....Her Majesty enjoys that and we attend a few....And eat the popcorn.
