bobrxlex Posted November 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2022 Has anyone experienced a lot of noise from the shows in the theater at night. I just got moved to cabin E217 mid forward on sky princess mini suite and was worried there would be quite a bit of noise. Emerald deck 8 mid forward. Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted November 24, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2022 Yes, we avoid that area. Not only are there the shows, but there are the practices for the shows. On the bright side, if it’s a guest performer, you can kinda tell from the practice if you’ll enjoy the show.
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted November 24, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2022 From a theater tech approach, the curtains and stage props have to go somewhere...like up into deck 8.
effyatsea Posted November 26, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2022 I would't fancy it. Only been over the theatre once, up on Caribe and we could still hear some noise. Admittedly we were in an interior just over the back of the stage so possibly right over some of the speakers. Others in the group were in exterior cabins and heard nothing. Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted November 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2022 We always try to avoid any deck that does not have cabins directly above AND below.
kruisey Posted November 26, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2022 If someone is hard of hearing just keep hearing aids off. Early on I accepted a mini upgrade forward on Island Princess quite high up but over Theater Stage. Learned my lesson, especially when band was rehearsing. bobrxlex Posted November 26, 2022 Author #7 Share Posted November 26, 2022 I just read a review of someone who got an upgrade to a mini suite over the theater and it was so noisy. Just like what I did. Now I'm sick that I spent so much for an upgrade that is really a downgrade. So if your thinking about upgrading be careful about where you wind up. Im leaving in 13 days and just hoping something opens up not over the theater. but I think the ship if pretty full so I'm doubtful

One time we had an inside cabin just below (next to, really) the pool. Every night at 3am the barracuda started running and made an awful noise.
bobrxlex Posted November 30, 2022 Author #9 Share Posted November 30, 2022 how many cabins back from the front of the ship before the noise from the theater start to subside
Wishing on a star Posted November 30, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Are the only available Minisuites with that category, all there in that area above the theater? I don't know the answer, but I would imagine that the most noise comes from the front, stage area? Also, I have heard that the opening that goes up above the center of the stage, where curtains and props are above the stage can carry the noise. I remember hearing about the inside cabins above this on deck 10 could hear the theater. Edited November 30, 2022 by Wishing on a star
