KyleClark Posted December 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2022 If yes, will this delay embarkation?
Rare www3traveler Posted December 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2022 Since The Epic has been in Europe, I would be more worried about the CDC Inspection than the Coast Guard. Either could cause a delay.

Rare 1025cruise Posted December 2, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2022 Yes, there will be USCG, CDC, and Immigration inspections when a cruise ship arrives from Europe for its US based season. I would expect a delayed boarding.
chengkp75 Posted December 2, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2022 One of the largest delays is the face to face interviews with CBP of all crew members. This takes groups of 50 or so out of work at a time, delaying the turn around work. The USCG inspection will likely be scheduled for this day as well, and does not usually delay things, unless the crew do not perform well during the fire and boat drill, and then the inspectors can stop the drill, reset to the beginning (all crew back at work locations) and start over. Due to the CBP and USCG inspections which are pretty much required at the first US port call, USPH tends to hold off on doing one of their inspections. However, USPH inspections are done while the ship and crew are in service (witnessing one meal service is a requirement), so they generally don't delay things unless there are a lot of violations that need to be discussed at the final debrief. 2
Boschmann Posted December 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 6, 2022 We've been told by staff on ship that there will be roughly 1800 on the TA but 4300 from NYC to PR.
