Yes, I've heard that, but never done so nor seen that option on any paperwork in the cabin. I suppose one just calls Cabin Service and puts in a request? Sort of one of those "we do it, but we don't advertise it" things? Doug

Then if you want a "heavy" drink they will pour to your request. Ordering via room service - not likely anything except what exactly fits the guidelines. A double doesn't. Doug I've done it, but pre-Medallion era when you called room service to order vs. ordering on the Medallion app now. Assuming you can still call room service to place an order, it's worth a try. It would simplify just calling once on board as opposed to trying to order pre-cruise. However, if I can afford the Princess Plus, I will continue to do so just because it's convenient. But once Princess raises the price too high, it's back to alternate plans! <g> Doug

Doug A 375ml bottle is not a double. It is about 12oz or 8 drinks. A drink is usually a mini bottle of about 50ml. Can you buy a larger bottle of liquor to be delivered to your cabin? Certainly, but definitely not with your beverage package.

We've gotten off track.....forget about the beverage package. I have been asking about cruises BEFORE we used Princess Plus, but AFTER I used Rum Runners. For instance, if prices for Princess plus (or just the cruise itself) get too high, I'll go back to the non-perk/beverage package, base cruise fare and just order those small .375l bottles for cabin delivery and consumption. Between a couple of those, plus the two bottles of wine we bring when we board, we are unlikely to need to purchase anything at the bar, or use cabin service for individual drinks. Does that make more sense?😎 Doug

On our precious cruises with a drinks package, yeah that little bottle would have been not nearly enough! We "forced" ourselves to have at least 4 drinks a day to "justify" the package cost. 😉 But if prices go to high, my Scottish blood will assert itself and I'll some how get by on a couple of those .375l bottles of scotch for the entire cruise. I just wish Princess had a decent selection. In past cruises when I ordered those little bottles, it was Johnny Walker Red or Cutty Sark I believe. Both do contain alcohol, but the are better suited as shellac thinner IMO.😩 Doug

We've also ordered doubles and were just charged for two drinks against our package. The way you were charged seems like someone made a mistake. It's not been like that in our experiences, even on the Discovery. Discovery Princess, Alaska cruise, July 2022. Atrium bar, No mistake.
Rare fpsphil Posted December 19, 2022 #67 Share Posted December 19, 2022 Even when I’ve gone over or ordered something beyond the package I have yet to have it hit my bill on any of my 5 cruises since the restart.
smithmlmx Posted December 20, 2022 #68 Share Posted December 20, 2022 Just got off The Regal in FLL. Often ordered doubles on board or 2 glasses of wine with just my medallion in my pocket. However check your bill every day. We were often charged for drinks with Princess Plus. They still have a machine next to Customer Service where you can print out your folio. No issues at desk to remove the charges

The issue comes when a bartender decides it is easier to put both drinks on one account. All of a sudden you look up and one account is maxed out and one has hardly been used. On a sea day it is not that hard to get close to 15 per person especially if you spend time in the casino
