JoRoy218 Posted December 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2022 We’re booked on the Regal out of FLL and would appreciate input re: transport from airport to pier. We’ve done this route a few times and the Princess shuttle has always taken soooo long. What do you think — taxi, Uber, Lyft, other? Thanks much! Also is it correct that the Princess pier is at terminal 2?
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted December 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2022 I've always done the Princess shuttle...have never had any issues with wait time. I assume you mean waiting inside the bus before it leaves...because it's only about 15 minutes max to the pier.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted December 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2022 If I were to try something else my first thought would be to go with Uber simply because I'm familiar with it and have used it many times elsewhere. Somehow I've developed a distrustful attitude toward taxis...no clue why!

Also is it correct that the Princess pier is at terminal 2? Very plentiful and easy Uber & Lyft to the port and less expensive than taxi or PCL shuttle. We use Uber/Lyft a lot at FLL. PCL uses Pier 2/Terminal 2. Rarely, if a lot of ships are in, they could be reassigned. But, unlikely. Check your port information for scheduling closer to departure. JoRoy218 Posted December 16, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted December 16, 2022 Yes, my issue with Princess shuttle is that there is frequently a wait in the terminal, then waiting on the shuttle…am so ready to board by this time, tired of delays, , encountered this on quite a few Princess shuttles. Am ready to explore other options from airport to ship. Appreciate the input!
capriccio Posted December 16, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2022 You didn't mention how many are in your party but keep in mind that if there are more than two passengers the cruise line shuttle quite likely will be more expensive than the other vehicles since Uber, Lyft and taxis charge per vehicle. Uber and Lyft do differentiate charges based on the size of the vehicle. Taxis, regardless of the size, charge the same fare. If you have a larger group or even if you are just 3 people traveling with lots of luggage a van taxi could very well be the cheapest.
Ashland Posted December 16, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2022 Use a taxi from FLL to Port Everglades...Easy and quick should be approx $15.00 metered not a flat rate.

Sorry, but that's a bit inaccurate. Princess's "main" terminal is T2, but if there are two or more Princess ships in PE at the same time then clearly one of them has to use another terminal, usually Terminal 21. This is not at all an uncommon occurrence and has happened to us a number of times. On the Sky a month ago, we left from T2 but returned a week later to T21, as the Enchanted was at T2. capriccio Posted December 16, 2022 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2022 Last January on the Caribbean Princess we left from Terminal 2 and returned to Terminal 4 which shares a garage with Terminal 2 and is right next to it (there is no Terminal 3). That may not happen for much longer since Disney is renovating Terminal 4 soon in anticipation of porting a ship in Port Everglades next year,

Thanks for that explanation. The OP should check the schedule for PE. We’ve done 6 this year from PE Term 2, but of course, it could vary.

AFAIK, the rule seems to be that if two Princess ships are at PE on the same day, then the larger one gets T2 and the smaller one (such as the Caribbean Princess) gets shunted to T21. When two of the large ships are in port at the same time, the newer one gets T2 and the "older" one gets T21. That's why we ended up at T21 on the Sky when the slightly newer Enchanted got T2. Just curious, how does anyone get metered rate anymore. Did Fll to port metered and dude still insisted it was $20( even though meter read $13). On the way back, it wasn't coz is was "broken" and dude insisted the because we were 4 (only carry ons too) and it was SUV that it was $30. The taxi ripoff happens a lot there. If you use a taxi, decide on a price first with driver.
