Parking at Miami Port

We have a cruise booked for January out of Miami.  This will be our first time driving to the port.  Would be great to get recommendations on parking.  Should we just plan to pay the higher price of $22/day and park at the port?  Any recommendations for parking away from the port with shuttle?  Is the traffic overwhelming when we return to get out of the port area?  Appreciate your responses!!

if your cruise is  10 days or less  just park at the port

For us, the convenience of parking at the port is well worth the added cost.

 

Only concern at MIA port is an alleged increase of break ins, which occur at some off sire places as well.

There are several threads here that address Miami parking.  The consensus is that Miami offport parking sites have safety issues, It is the one departure city where I bite  the bullet and pay fpr port parking
