Tjcal Posted January 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Just curious how air conditioned the public spaces on the Zandaam are in tropical waters. Are shortsleeved shirts adequate for dining areas or is the air conditioning such that you might need a light sweater. Just curious. Haven’t really been on a cruise to tropical areas until an upcoming Panama Canal cruise in early February.
Sharon in AZ Posted January 22, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2023 I find that the common areas onboard are always chilly no matter outside climate. I always carry a sweater just in case.
Arizona Wildcat Posted January 22, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Definitely varies by individual. DW is always just fine. I often want a light sweater. Also lots cooler if one is under a vent
Sir PMP Posted January 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2023 The ship inside is always at 72 degrees.
Navybikermom Posted January 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2023 I just got off the Zaandam and most of the public areas are air conditioned enough that I wore long sleeves or a sweater. The Wajang theater is ice cold. I played bingo there many times and most of us were bundled up with sweaters or coats. The public areas were not all the same temp though. Some were more comfortable than others. Most women seemed to bring a sweater everywhere they went just in case.
Divi Posted January 23, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2023 I would have enjoyed listening to the classical duo but they played in the Explorer’s Lounge and I thought it was freezing there. We traveled with friends and he found the temperature perfect🤷♀️ Our room temperature was easily adjusted. I do like it cool for sleeping although my husband describes that as Arctic camping. It happens with older ships & Zaandam is one of those older ships now 23 years old
