No Show on Casino Comped Cabin

Hi All,

I have a question, and the only answers I can find are several years old so I’m wondering if anyone has any NEW experience. I booked a comp cabin (casino offer) for me and my 2 adult children. My mother in law just passed and now I’m navigating resolving her estate and planning her funeral, I cannot make the cruise. Can my 2 adult (27 & 28 years old) children go without me? How will it work if the offer was under my name?

Sorry for the loss of your Mother-in-law.    Your 2 Adult children can go but they will be charged for the cabin.     The person that was comped the cabin thru clubroyale must be present to receive the "free" cabin.

Perhaps you can have the funeral before you leave for the cruise then worry about the estate stuff when you return.     That is what we did recently when my MIL passed away Thanksgiving weekend.    It was actually the perfect get away to be at peace at sea and return home with a calm mind to begin cleaning out her house and work on the financial matters that come with being an Executor of an Estate.

Sorry for your loss. I'm in the same situation with the unexpected loss of my mom. And a broken wrist I start pt for tomorrow. So much paperwork. I'm driving left handed signing left handed important legal papers. I hardly know where to start. It's so daunting left handed.

I am supposed to do 10 days on radiance starting tomorrow. Not even sure I care I am missing my solo cruise.

Unfortunately, if the comp was issued in your name, and you do not travel, the rest of the party will need to pay the full cost of the cabin or will be denied boarding. Sorry.

Sounds like a scam to me also. If one is doing it for "fun" then why use anyones card. Not that big of deal right? If I were to join and one insisted on using their card, then I would also insist that if there is a large payout that requires a 1099G, then I would insist you pay all taxes imposed but still give me my % of the win. It's all for "fun" right?

Wrong thread.

I have no knowledge of the situation and am asking out of curiosity, but how would they handle it if the two showed up to check in, and said the comp person would be arriving later. I know under normal circumstances, you can check in and get on board that way. But would they not allow them to board, or would they hunt them down on the ship later and try to make them pay?

I'm so sorry Jane. First your dad, and then your mom. Plus, your own painful injury. It has been a bad time for you recently. Take care. I hope you feel better soon. There is an incredible amount of paperwork and things that need to be done.

When they figure out the casino comp person did not board but other cabin mates boarded then they can demand payment for the cabin.

I'm not sure how quick it would happen but if they don't have means to pay they could evict them at the next port.
