kessdarln Posted February 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2023 First time in Yacht Club (of any kind) and first time on MSC. 💕💕💕 Milestone splurge, otherwise I would book an inside cabin. Is there something I should do, know, etc.? Will it insult the butler if I don't ask for things? 🤔🤔🤔 I'm not able to make any online reservations. How do I book spa, show, specialty dining reservations? Do I have to have someone do that for me? All advise is welcome. I don't want to insult anyone or... well I don't know what "or..." would be. 🙃
Rare PTC DAWG Posted February 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2023 Sailed in YC for the first time recently...most relaxing cruise ever. Meraviglia out of PC. Concierge in the hall will handle all bookings...a Butler escorted a group of us to two other ... Cirque type of shows. The two other times we went to the main theater, we just entered at the YC entrance out front. Spa was just show up for me when I went...they handed me a locker key and off I went to explore. The butler will do as much or as little as you want. Assistant Butler does most of the room care, so ask them for water, etc...a bottle should be provided..we were offered a Liter of Belvedere on our 7 day cruise. Mixers, fruit, etc were offered during the week..Just ask what's available. Breakfast buffet outside was wonderful...eggs etc made to order. Same with lunch...fresh burgers, hot dogs, and some other type of fresh carved roast beast. When in doubt, ask. They will help.
Nashna Posted February 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2023 The YC Concierge will take care of all that once you board. The concierge will greet you by name and offer to make all those arrangements. We found them to be delightful. You are in for a treat. We had booked an excursion before boarding. Our butler knew we were going on an excursion and offered to escort us to the bus. Passengers going on the excursion were to meet in the theatre; our butler said we could save time and just meet the tour outside the ship. So instead of spending 30 minutes waiting, we sipped mimosas. Our butler was in contact with the excursion officer who called when the passengers were leaving the theatre. Our butler took us off the ship, directly to the bus to board, introduced us to the guide, and ensured we were the first on the bus. This is another example of how the butlers work for you...One night, I ordered a glass of wine in the Topsail Lounge, and we decided to have our drinks on the veranda instead. I picked up my glass and left the lounge when another butler saw me. He was aghast to see me carrying my own drink, asked what I was drinking, and said he would deliver it to our room. He showed up within a few minutes with a full bottle of wine and two glasses. We didn't think we needed a butler...until we had one. 6

I've been in service my entire life and have never been pampered.😂😂 This is my bucket list year; this is one of them: luxury cruise experience and spa. Thank you 🙂

I did this trip in January and was thrilled because it was very different from US or Europe. But you should know a few things beforehand so as not to be disappointed. I hope your TA advised you well. In particular, there will be no alcohol during the trip in the waters off Saudi Arabia, but also no discount on the beverage packages. Due to the almost worldwide sanctions, which Arabia has not joined, many Russians will be on board. Are you familiar with their table manners and other cultural peculiarities? Even in YC this required a high degree of tolerance 😉 But the interesting, unusual route and the warm weather fully compensated us 🙂 Here are a few impressions to heighten your anticipation: Edited February 24, 2023 by LiquidWu

Gatordad1967 Posted February 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted February 24, 2023 agreed. I am a YC addict, and the only cure is to sail again.
