Carnival Upgrade Call

I am sailing this Sunday 2/26/23 for 7 nights on the Carnival Celebration and just got my first call with Carnival offering an upgrade on my cruise. My wife and I booked an interior room with a casino rate and was offered to upgrade to a balcony room for $350. We figured since we got such a good deal on our cruise we could splurge and take them up on the offer. Normally we save that money for other things since we're not in the room that much but it's our 35th wedding anniversary so I thought let's do it. This will be our 13th cruise and have only had a balcony one other time.

So don't give up hope if you're waiting on a call to have a chance to upgrade.

I keep waiting to get an offer to upgrade from a balcony to a suite, but it's never happened yet.  😁

I've only received one upgrade offer in all my cruises, I could have gone from a regular balcony to an aft facing balcony.  Unfortunately I had to decline because my daughter was booked in the cabin next to us and we wanted to stay together.  I've always wondered if declining that time has impacted my chances of getting another upgrade offer.

No. Upsell offers are based on your cabin location and category.  The cruise line wants to upsell you to a slow moving category and resell your cabin.  Connecting cabins are prime for opportunities when the two aren't linked.

Congrats! We just took an upsell offer on our 4 day cruise that leaves on Thursday. Went from a Deck 1 interior (with 4 people) to a Cloud 9 Spa OV for $150. And we had turned down an upsell for this same cruise about 2 months ago because it was just moving decks, still interior for $175. I was honestly surprised to get the  call yesterday. The 1st offer was in our booking confirmation area when you log-in, 2nd was a phone call

My son got a phone upsell offer to move from interior lido to balcony lido for $160 total, two pax, Breeze 5-day.  The price is good but we passed on it.  This is a father-son Cheers cruise, and even the best balcony rooms don't come with a bar and bartender lol.

My sister and I got an upsell offer for $100 (total) to move from a balcony to suite on the Mardi Gras.  Jumped on that offer!  Hoping to get another upsell offer for our Valor cruise in April, but I doubt it as I think it is sold out.

I have been hoping for the same thing but I think my sailing is sold out too.  Celebration on March 5th.
