You can wear any type of collared shirt for dinner in the restaurant or Manfredi's/Chef's Table but I would think people only wear hawaiian or polynesian shirts in the appropriate regions of the world. But again you can wear whatever you like to wear!

Jim Avery Posted March 24, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2023 That's the way we all dressed in Destin. In fact that is a picture of me in the '70s......😱 1
Myrtle Ave. Mayhem Posted March 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2023 IMHO Hawaiian shirts wouldn't be my thing anywhere near, around, in & out of Europe.
TayanaLorna Posted March 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2023 All the guys I know wear "Hawaiian" shirts but then we live in the Caribbean. Yes to wearing them to dinner on board. My DH bought some long sleeved Neru collared tunic shirts for our Amazon trip. (Read sun and insect protection.) We weren't sure if they would meet the collar rule for the restaurants. But they looked so smart with his slim black trousers that we tried it. No problem. They are certainly more dressy then polo shirts.
Rare Peregrina651 Posted March 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 24, 2023 You are on vacation. Within the rules set out by Viking, wear what makes you happy and have fun on your vacation.

17pandd Posted March 25, 2023 #15 Share Posted March 25, 2023 When we go on the Polynesia cruise in November, my husband will wear mostly Hawaiian shirts to dinner. They are cotton, button, have a collar and look nice on him. He only wears a ball cap when he plays softball.

To be elegant you would have to wear them with bib type jeans. DON
KBs mum Posted March 25, 2023 #17 Share Posted March 25, 2023 Wearing Hawaiian shirts to dinner when the dress code is elegant casual will give observers the correct impression of the wearer
burnabyjean Posted March 25, 2023 #18 Share Posted March 25, 2023 There are many different types of Aloha shirts. My husband has many and I think he looks just fine in them. If others judge him as classless, so be it!

Rare LindaS272 Posted March 25, 2023 #20 Share Posted March 25, 2023 No it’s not. We’re not as concerned about class here in North America. 😉

On each trip, the people I met comported themselves very, very well, even while wearing — especially while wearing — Hawaiian shirts.
