Ruby Drydock Confirmation Sept 24-October 22

It's been there. When the Horizon Court main buffet is closed, they will leave snacks and whatnot out in the Cafe Caribe.

The Cafe Caribe has always been there. It's a smaller buffet.

Not always open like the main buffet.

But we could always sit in the area when extra seating was necessary.

Always been there. It is the aft section of the Horizon Ct. The serving area which only operates during certain hours had selections not available in the the main area, such as made to order omelets, special lunch & dessert items. Anticipate the entire buffet area will undergo some changes.

We are tied up next to her in Victoria today. DH and I noticed the work going on, but didn’t realize there were no passengers moving about until we were on the bus for our shore ex! We paid more attention walking back to our ship upon our return.

 

Of course we couldn’t tell what was going on inside the vessel, but saw lots of painting, scraping of railings, and hoisting materials onto the sports court area and pool decks. unfortunately the materials were in big bins, so we couldn’t tell what they were loadin There was a lot of activity and seemed that big changes were taking place.

Early on I read that all bedding and carpets were being changed. If correct, that would be lots of containers of new and old supplies on and off.

The starboard side was against the pier, and I did not notice a dent. So, if it was on that side, I guess it is fixed.

Thanks for the reply. It was port side. Port aft corner where the ship struck the dock in San Francisco. They completed a repair to allow the ship to sail, but it still needed the finishing touches.

We are on Crown Princess in Victoria, docked next to Ruby. This picture shows some of the activity on the pool deck. I can see a crane, shipping containers, and many workers.

It appears the San Francisco pier damage has been repaired, or at least filled with Bondo 😁

The Ruby was docked next to the Crown, which I was on, in Victoria, Canada on October 15.

It arrived after us and left before our ship left.  Large crates were being replaced on the top deck, but that was all that was happening.

Looking forward someone doing Live Ruby Princess while it is sailing to FLL from SF. We are booked for Jan 29th Panama Canal from FLL.

New furniture and carpet. Also added wash sinks at all entrances to buffet. . Beverages such as coffee, lemonade orange juice teas are no longer self-service. They will bring you those items. The layout of the food area unfortunately is unchanged.

Correction, they will allow you to self serve beverages, but so far they’ve always been service by employees.

Sometimes it's quicker to just get it yourself.

We are also on that cruise.  FYI, there is a roll call on line for it also.  I am certainly curious about the dry dock fixes and upgdrades.
