I was impressed.  For the first time I had vindalu that was approximately spiced.  Both my wife and I really enjoyed.

Did you ever go and buy 1/2 a cake at the bakery? It's never just 1/2 the price of the whole thing. Or a half order of a menu item at a restaurant? BTW the upgrade price is $87 for Elite+.

I dont buy “half” things but the comparison in this context makes no sense because Celebrity has no material value or expediture when selling internet packages.

The bakery needs to bake a full cake and then find a customer for the other half you didn’t buy, running a risk of not selling it all. Celebrity has zero risk or cost associated with selling you 7 days out of 15 for wifi.

Yesterday’s shore excursion was “Small Group: Costa Rica Coffee Plantation Experience.

IMG_0031.thumb.jpeg.d79c6ec4885f00bb7d110313cf55e780.jpeg

We started with about an two hour bus ride from the ship to the coffee plantation which is located in the mountains at an elevation of around 3500 feet.

This is a map of Costa Rica and next is a section of the map showing where we traveled.

we started in Puntarenas and the plantation was located near Juntas if I understood it correctly.

After explaining the life of a coffee bean, from pollenation to picking, we went an experienced the way to make and taste coffee.

He used coffee grounds in a large cup, poured water into the cup and let us watch as the oils released.   He stirred this a couple of times before pouring it through a filter.

We were then each given a small cup of the brew and were told to slurp it with lots of air.  It amazed me how the flavor changed from bitter with the first sip to smooth and flavorful by the third sip.

My memory isn't so good about last week, but I can remember all the way back to a family vacation to Nebraska when I was two years old. I have memories that might be earlier, but I can't put a time stamp on them like I can the Nebraska vacation. My mom always says, to this day, that my brother and I were the most well-behaved children. She points out when I was 5 and my brother was 8 and my parents were buying a car and it took the better part of two days. My brother and I just sat there, patiently, watching TV in the car dealership while our parents handled the deal. They did have ice cream in those little plastic containers with wooden spoons, so we were able to eat a few of those. I remember being bored silly, but we knew better than to do anything but sit there and be quiet.

and to this day, we can remember the taste of those wooden spoons, but not the ice cream.  LOL

Continuing with yesterday’s shore excursion.  When we left the coffee plantation, we had about a 30 minute drive to the Oxcart factory.  This was not of particular interest to me so I just too some photo’s of things I thought were interesting.. It was to say the least very colorful.

In case any of you currently onboard don't have a drink package and want to risk drinking a 2021 Malbec, provided by Celebrity in the cabin, please let me know for discreet delivery. I'm not going to drink it and will definitely leave it behind otherwise.

It is not a horrible wine.  I’ve had it before.

In the Celebrity Today, the casino has low limit leisure gaming, but there is a fee. I've not seen this before. Can someone give me details? How low is the limit? How high is the fee? Are there special tables?

That's good to know. Either way, I'm not much of a wine drinker so while I appreciate them sending it to me it's a rather futile gesture in my case. I'd rather have two Alaska Rolls from Sushi on 5. 😁

That’s very kind of you. Hope someone will reach out to you because no alcohol deserves to go down the drain.

I feel the same, I wish for a alternative to the free wine. Perhaps there is and I am not aware.

I made Sanria from the last bottle I received on EDGE and had a massive hangover after. Not going to do that again this week. 🤣
