Hello!   Rotterdam Casino!

How's the craps table?

Also, does the casino usually open on the first night after they sail away from port?

Craps table is very comfy. I slept on it a few nights. The casino opens on the first night after they are far enough away from the port.

HAHA,   I think i'll be sleeping there if I get restless or still feel jet lagged.     Hope they dont close early.

If you are new to the Rotterdam, you should be aware that smoking is allowed in the Casino.  I offer this as information, please take any smoking discussion to the dedicated thread.

Craps was a good time last month. A nice crowd nightly. Mostly congenial guests. Charismatic dealers for the most part. Didn’t see it open during the day.

$5 min and 2x odds max.

Strange that it's not open during the day on sea days. And @leerathje congratulations! I'm going to carry the thought of that with me.

I was a bit frustrated when on my September cruise I found out that the odds bets are only 2x, but it didn't slow me down! Do you know if they count the amount on the table towards benefits?

The casinos on the ships are open as early/late as allowed by local laws.  They want your money.  I have seen casinos open as late as 3-4AM on ships, as long as people were still playing.  They do usually have to close within a few miles of ports-before & after.

Last time i was on the Rotterdam was in May of this year.

They didn't have Texas holdem.

They had blackjack/craps.   Im pretty sure they have Ultimate Texas Hold'em.  they definitely had roulette.

They do not have Pai Gow.

Do yourself a favor and just play blackjack if youre going to play.   Or slots but i never recommend playing slots where the payout is terrible and its worse on a cruiseship.

I will tell you my experience playing craps on the cruiseship.

Night 1:   Lost 1000

Night 2:  Lost 1000

Night 3:   Switched to Don't pass and lost 1000

Night 4: Lost 1000

I was pretty sure they were cheating.

Night 5: switched to blackjack and won 5000.

My plan is just to play craps on a different ship. That should work, right?

By the way, has anyone tried the "Ploppy 3-2 System" at Roulette? It makes mathematical sense, although in the video I saw it doesn't take into account the 0 and 00. I just saw a YouTube video about it (not my video, I have nothing to do with this, nor have I tried it).

The name of the video on YouTube is "Exploiting the Roulette Layout." Not sure if it's allowed to post the link here.

NOTE: Even though it looks infallible, the reality is that the House still has a 5.26% advantage. The House always wins.

Craps is still slightly better, if you bet the odds, depending on how they pay the odds (not best on cruises, of course).

The Rotterdam has expanded the casino into adjoining space and it's non-smoking.  Used to be the Park West Art space.

From a January press release:

In addition to the casino expansion, a separate non-smoking area in the casino on Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam have been added.

Were the blackjack tables all the auto shufflers or were they dealt from a shoe?

HAL does hand shuffle at BJ tables on all ships.  But there is only one 3/2 table on each ship and, of course, it is higher minimum -- generally $15 or $25.  But the bonus that makes the higher ante worthwhile is that all the beginners play at the 6/5 tables 😉.
